I appreciate the info. I checked their website and got the address. The hood i have on now is allright. Theres a few blemishes and streaks that bothers me. You can see streaks under certain lighting conditions, in particular at night underneath a street light. I need a flawless one. The one on that RO_JA TL appears to be just that.

We think just alike.....I am waiting on some more things to come out before I start on my car. I also have a lemon case pending.......so I have to wait anyways. The Comptech, and A-spec stuff is just way too common/factory for my taste. I've been into tuning for a long time, I guess that's why.

pearl04... have you composed a list of the parts you plan to install on your TL? Im curious to see what your list looks like.

PIJR808TL.... the quality of the custom carbons hood is excellent for $300. i paid for what i got. a $600 hood should be flawless if you compare the price difference. Does anyone know if VIS racing will be manufacturing a hood and/or trunk?

willz822...i appreciate that. if you tamper with the grille components its not too difficult to dissassemble. Just take all the screws out and itll come apart.

I would be interested in a carbon fiber hood/trunk from Vis, but I wouldnt be able to afford it because of the fact that all my money is going towards wheels, suspension, intake and esxhaust...

anitosi... are you referring to the kit on that RO_JA TL? if so no i dont think its out on the market. But where theres a will theres a way. i might have to make a special request for that bumper if its possible.

That picture was taken at the SEMA show in las vegas a few months ago. supposedly it has lamborghini doors.

I cant decide if i wanna paint the edges of my hood. it will look somethin like this tsx, but white.

anitosi... i dont have any info about the kit on that red TL. The grille was done entirely by myself. i spent $30 for a sheet of mesh and $25 for a carbon fiber sheet. Theres more info about the grille that can be found on the previous pages.

Wow, that tsx looks nice. I like the hood w/ the painted edges. Now, would it be painted or a graphic sticker?

I think it would look better painted. Maybe you should try it with vinyl first. At least that way, it can easily be reversed.

the hood is a real good for $300. $600 i would have expected a flawless one. you should be able to get one off ebay still.

Accuratein, I also think that some white vinyl will set the carbon fiber hood off as well. Can't wait to see what you come up with..

I do have a question for you, do you have any plan on a big brake upgrade for the car, or maybe even painting your calipers. I have a company in Oregon that uses Wilwood brake components and builds custom brake kits for the front and rear, and they have created a kit for the 3rd gen TL's, I'm still waiting on their wheel fitment guide, but from what I've seen they do top quality work, and it should be somewhere around $1000 for a 4 piston kit, and $1350 for a 6 piston front brake kit. I'm still working out the particulars. But I will fore sure keep you updated.

Well I have negotiated a group deal, I'm currently holding off until I get that wheel fitment guide and make sure they will fit under my DPE wheels. From what I heared, if I can get 2-3 other people to order with me, we can look at development and completion of the kit in under a month. Wilwood is top quality stuff, just as good as rotora. We can get the calipers in black and red, or silver or any other custom color. The nice thing about this, is that everyone who orders can manipulate the parts, for instance if they want superlite piston 6 calipers instead of dynalite 4 piston's, piston color, size of the rotors, slotted/drilled, etc. Here is the website for the company and Wilwood's website, so you can get an idea of what the calipers look like.

Precision Brakes Company doesnt exactly have the greatest website as you can tell, looks like they havent updated it in a year or so. But they are very professional on the phone, and the guys really want to develop this brake kit. Send me a PM, if your seriously interested about this and we can discuss all the particulars over the phone and we can try and get this rolling.

http://www.precisionbrakescompany.com/index.asp

http://www.wilwood.com/

Wilwood's name speaks for itself, Brembo and Stoptech will be more expensive, but the quality is right up there with the best of them..

lokius... yeah wilwood is a decent brand. one of my buddies is runnin wilwood breaks on his m3. i might have to think about this. im showing at a lot of events this year so im gonna need to get some big brakes soon. let me know if the group buy is for real.

have you heard anything about the rotora kit for the TL?

Yeah, Rotora makes a nice kit, personally I would only spend $1500 on a Brembo or Stoptech Front brake kit, and I want to be a bit different. Rotora is going on alot of Acura's and I know that at least a couple guys ordered them for their 3rd gens. The group buy is a definently happening, I'm going to talk to the mods, and I will send you an email, we are looking at $1100 for a top of the line 4 piston set-up that you can get in black or red painted, and powdercoated anything else. I really would like to do this mod with you and a couple other of the guys on the board, so we can get them even cheaper!

I think the brembo front kit goes for around $2k, way to much for me to spend on a Automatic FWD sedan. I'm saving the cash for extra mods, ronjons body kit, or anything else that catches my eye. I sent you a PM with some particulars, discuss them with me, so you know what your options are with these Wilwood kits. Regardless your car is going to look great, but to be honest I think the 6 piston and 4 piston Dyna Series calipers from Wilwood look just as good or better than the Brembo set-up, slotted and drilled of course. The main selling point, is that this company really wants our business, and the guy will work with us to get the price down even lower.

No worries on the brake package my friend, you will be happy with the Rotora stuff. I decided to go ahead and start that set-up myself. I wasnt able to get anyone to join with me, but hopefully they will give me some rebates as soon as I talk some people into it.

I've seen those black TE-37's in person, I wasn't too impressed, personally I dont think they will look to great on our car. Go with the new titanium graphite or diamond black, thats better than that solid black.

ACCURATEin, I know you were interested in a carbon fiber lip spoiler, and it look's as though I have solved that for us. I'm going to be wrapping my OEM lip spoiler in carbon fiber trim that I bought 10feet worth of, I am also going to be covering some other parts of my car in carbon fiber, if it looks good I will hook you up for sure. I'm thinking of wrapping the rear liscense plate frame with the carbon fiber, i dont like that vertical line black stuff, and also the silver bar over the liscence plate. Installed with the ronjon body kit, it should look amazing!

Lokius...ill post pictures of the rotora kit after its installed. i wonder how long it will take for it to arrive being that it is a special order for the black calipers.

Those black spoke te-37s were the first time i had ever seen them. they were on display at the mackin industries booth at the D1 grand prix in irwindale. i have never seen them mounted on a car but i can imagine them lookin pretty sick.

I saw some rolls of carbon fiber sticky back sheets in super autobacs. i wonder if thats the same thing you have found.

For everyone that is interested in constructing the grille like mine...the carbon fiber supplies can be found in super autobacs off beach blvd in socal.

Well, I know for sure that this spoiler will fit our tl http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=33638 , however I already have a lip spoiler, so I decided to just cover it in carbon fiber, I bought stuff like this, and it will look similiar when covered...
