dzuy...dude you got your ride lookin right. it would be tight to cruise together one night with the white and bronze/gold schema. i had seen your pictures a while back in the tsx forum and was amazed. i even had your car as my background on my computer screen. its the hotness.

prostockjon...volks in 18s should be in the 600's w/o tires. maybe even in the 500's. through ebay even lower.

momoTL...i appreciate you postin the images on the thread. and is that a picture of you in your avatar?

lokius...the most deciding factor in modifying the grille is the decision to cut that horizontal pillar. i am sure i substantially devalued the car in doing so. just make sure you have the carbon fiber sheet on hand before you do so...otherwise everyone will ask.. "dude, whats the deal with the grille"

everyone else,...i appreciate the comments! im sorry about all the carbon fiber, but i seem to have a fettish for it. i cant explain i just like it.

I like the decals too, since the car is WDP they are not too flashy...
where do you get them?

The carbon fiber sticker for the grill seems like it has a gap under,
it's not all the way down, is it glued to the grill frame ?

i researched for u and found a site that sold 18's for bout 400$$ they r very expensive!!! for 19's they r 600.... but this was lik on sale from a company and from a dealer/company it might be up 2 800$$ little 2 much for a 13 yr old

NOX 3.2 ... The decals were made at a shop in Raleigh, NC called Phantasm Motorsport. They were able to size the decals to a certain length, I chose 6". Many colors were available to choose from as well.

With the carbon fiber being adhered to the plastic bumper by 3m adhesive alone, i am glad to say it hasn't become detached yet. It has endured hours of extreme exposure from sunlight, water, wind, and chemicals in meguires liquid soap. Now, it is slowly becoming detached, but I shall slide a slither of super glue in between there and that shall solve the problem.

dzuy... keep that tsx in your possession so we can line our cars up side by side one day and take some shots. what all do you have in store for yours modification wise? im not sure how fond of wild body kits you are, but extreme dimensions has a nasty looking one for the tsx. Theres a silver one on 19" racing hart cx's here in Charlotte with it.

i have two more "waves" of mods coming. the next one should be here next week.

i dont have any plans for any crazy body kits, i've always preferred the clean look. i dont know what the extreme dimensions kit looks like, pics would greatly be aprreciated so i can share it with my fellow tsx'ers.

I have been seeing the term "rice" being used in various threads throughout this entire acurazine forum. I was wondering if anyone could state a clear and concise definition of this term. This will enable me to look at a certain or particular vehicle and determine if the term "rice" applies.

Exactly how fast do you plan on going to utilitize the splitters?

When encountering a sudden variation in the pavement, i.e. a dip, a downward force can be felt at speeds in excess of 80 mph. As the level of speed increases, the downforce increases, a direct correlation. In essence, the splitters provide a higher level of traction enabling the vehicle to stick to the road.

Yes, check out the greet and meet forum. I have the 98 Accord Coupe V6 with the kit. And no I don't have splitters on them. Creativity is good...putting on unnecessary accessories is another. I'm not saying splitters are a bad idea. Try putting your car in a wind tunnel and see if it actually helps. I seriously doubt it or else Acura would've designed it into the body of the car some how. I think your car is definitely creative, just not my taste....I've never liked splitters so don't take it personally.

I forgot to post the offset for the TE-37s. +43 all around. No rubbing at all.

mobilezen... J. Lucas and his team of Honda Research and Development out of Ohio tested their TL in a wind tunnel. He stated in his thread that the oem body kit was found to be aerodynamically functional. He also stated that the team chose not to run the car in the 25 hour endurance race with the splitter due to the fact that the splitter was not "curb friendly". Another statement was made that the splitter was also found to be functional. Their design was a flat, one piece carbon fiber splitter, with two(2) adjustable rods.

At the 2004 NOPI NATIONALS car show, a group of four(4) men approached my TL. I watched their expressions and noticed they were relatively intrigued. I decided to chat and discovered that the four men were engineers and designers of the 2004 ACURA TL. They were surprised to see a TL at the show due to the fact that they projected the average consumer to be in the 40s and making 100 grand plus a year. It was awesome to be able to meet a few of the people that were behind the development of this car. We shook hands and took pictures, and one of the guys tells me in a low key voice..."look for the TL in the 25 hours of thunderhill endurance race in California in December. I didn't make it out there and now i'm wishing i did being that the Honda R&D TL placed 3rd overall and 1st in class.

Being so, it's not exactly a; verbatim; "unneccessary accessory". The engineers probably took into consideration that: #(1) the average consumer of the Acura TL will never reach speeds in excess of 80 mph (2)the fact that the average consumer does not want to negotiate with inclined driveways, speed humps/bumps, etc.

If i happen to come across those engineers again I will personally ask them about splitters and their function.

I was wondering if you could post a picture of your 98 Accord coupe on this thread. My younger brother drives the previous generation 97 Accord and is curious to see.

That's interesting. So what you're saying is that you'll be doing a lot of touring and racing in the future and gut out the car and such? I think just for optimal everyday driving, splitters are a bit too much. If you're an enthusiast which I think you are, then that portion can be justified to a certain extent.

This TL will never meet the pavement of race tracks. It came close to doing a parade lap around VIR, but time ran out. It can be found on stretches of Interstates 40, 85, 77, and 95 in the autobahn lane. (Slower traffic keep right) For the most part people yield to the HID's.

Allright im gonna take as many pictures of the splitters as my memory card will hold and post them all on the thread so everytime you look at this thread you will be enveloped with the image of my creation. You will have nightmares about these splitters.

S'all good man. I don't hold on to things that pester me that serve no purpose in everyday driving or functionality. We agreed to disagree. I am too easy going to get annoyed haha. Hit the track and post some numbers man...I'm curious to see if they help!

I think they look sweet.....people put alot of things on their cars that don't serve a purpose, other than making them look fast or sound fast. Most of our cars won't see a race track, who cares. Nice job.

pearl04... It seems to me we have the same tastes. I think you made a post stating you were looking at the same wheels. You should def. consider the TE-37s from both the handling and cosmetic factor. I have noticed a dramatic difference between the stock 17s and the volk 19s under full throttle around curves and executing turns.

You car is interesting and unique to say the least! Can you comment at all on the exhaust? Did you notice any perf improvement? Is there any droning throughout the rpm band? Overall is it worth the extra money??

llooks really clean, except for the front lip..i dont think its necessary and it kinda cuts into the clean lines of the car.. but thats just my two cents

ProStockJohn...Look at the rims on VTEC=happiness in the modified TL gallery. I believe those are the LE-37s which are slightly different. Those would look good on an anthracite. I'm not sure who has the best price but you could check out this website of the place where I bought my set. www.gmpperformance.com

Nodoze2004...The Comptech exhaust is definitely quality craftsmanship when you inspect it closely. Everything fits together well and what not. It's not extremely aggressive looking but you can tell its not stock when viewing the car from the rear. As far as performance, I'm sure the car is a bit quicker. Comptech claims 7.5 hp. Quiet at idle, low hum while cruising under moderate open throttle, and sounds awesome under full throttle. The price is steep, but I would tell you to order it today just so you won't be deprived of resonance.

jorgebs...I ordered the hood off ebay. Custom Carbons was the name. I think they have another one up for auction.

Do you race or track your TL? And why? Sorry but it looks like one of those lil Civics some of us owners are trying not to blend with. If you wanted a race car, should have went with a G35 or IS 300 or hell a Mustang.
Tls should stay stock.
