I think you need smoked taillights and a carbon fiber trunk, and then your set man, looks great!

Quiet at idle, low hum while cruising under moderate open throttle, and sounds awesome under full throttle. The price is steep, but I would tell you to order it today just so you won't be deprived of resonance.
Your ride is coming along nicely!!

Is there any possibility of receiving a sound clip of the comptech exhaust? I am still on the fence on this purchase. I LOVE the look, but want to be sure of the sound.

PLEASE

Lokius...I've thought about a carbon fiber trunk to offset all the carbon in the front. Thanks for the compliment.

Nodoze2004.... Try this link...its a video clip of this TL on a dyno. If you can't get it to work let me know and ill see what i can do about a sound clip. Thanks for the compliment.

www.leitchmotorsports.com click on videos at the bottom.

How did it do on the Dyno w/ the Injen intake and Comptech exhaust? Also, I couldn't get the video to work, any way to host it elsewhere?
Thanks...

put down 201.96 hp to the wheels. The graph didnt measure the rpm's though which is dissapointing.

I'll try and contact the site manager and get that video clip working.

Lokius... Im glad you got the clip to work. You should look into gettin the comptech exhaust. It will be difficult to modify the tip of the comptech but it can be done. Im assuming you would have the stock trapezoid piece of metal welded? If you would like i can take a detailed shot of one of the muffler and tip. Have you modified your grille yet?

dzuy... I been lookin at your threads in the tsx forum and i see you made a good choice and bought the tein flex setup. I am requesting, if not demanding, for you to put a carbon fiber hood on your tsx. if i saw your tsx on the road i would break my neck and then make an attempt to whip the TL around and hit vtec until i caught up. i'm gonna look for that silver tsx with the extreme dimensions kit tonight and take some pictures so you can get some ideas of what the kit look like.

SHINY....I appreciate it and im glad someone likes the lip.

Yeah, in order to get the clip to work guys, right click on teh link and copy shortcut, and then paste it into your windows browser.. I think it just standard codecs, I will double check on that just to make sure..

I really want the comptech exhaust after hearing it, I would modify it, but just make it look a little bit more like the trapezoid OEM tips, maybe like a brilliant black clearcoat on it, and make it stick out just slightly or something. Some pictures would be great.

As for the grill, I have decided to wait for the Mugen grill, it has the same affect as yours, but I will be able to free float a 'A emblem' in the middle of it and hopefully not cut that main pillar like you had to. Some pictures of the exhaust would be great. As usual, car looks great and I will be keeping you in the loop!

i once thought about buying a phase racing cf hood, it's around 1300USD.

but i dont think the cf hood would compliment my car as well as it does yours. my wheels are a lot lighter in color than yours, i think cf would look great on a white car and bronze wheels such as yourself.

if i saw your tl i would make a u turn and try to catch up - but you got a V6. no fair.

haha.

i'll be taking alot of pics of my car soon - need to get two new tires then i'll be back in action.

laters.

got the first speeding ticket in this TL after having put 26,000 miles on her. I wonder if the officer knew what kind of car it was considering i shaved the TL emblem. It might have been the first 3rd gen TL he pulled over. Got caught doing 56 in a 35, been down that road 932 times both in the Legend and TL and never seen a patrol car sitting in that spot.

Shit happens.

The driverside splitter broke off due to an excess of downforce(i.e. demolishing the speed limit.) Therefore, the splitters done for.

Shit happens.

Both incidents occured within 24 hours.

Waitin for an aftermarket front bumper with a center lower air dam such as those found on the tsx, bmw m3, etc. The mugen bumper is a possibility but doesnt have the center air dam which appeals to me.

Neogeek...Who is boltjames?

Sorry to hear about the ticket and the splitters........bad sh** happens when you least expect it. Anyway, keep your head up. I am also waiting on someone to come out with a nice front bumper. Ro-ja has one for our car, don't know if it is in production yet. The nose on our car is really starting to frustrate me. I like the short noses like the BM's have. Is it just me or is the new 5 series starting to look sweet.

your numbers reflect a 25% difference from stock HP which should be normal for a stock car. knowing that you had aftermarket performance parts installed, it looks like you lost more power than gained. the bigger wheels/tires can do that sometimes.....just an observation. it could also be the temp that day.

pearl04....You found some volks yet?

3PUTT....Yeah I was lookin for 215-220 to the wheels. Maybe a dirty filter and the fact there was no fan blowing air into the front driver side airdam.

If anyone wants to see pictures of this TL without the splitters and 5% tint let me know.

Lokius....I'm not familiar with the rear tie bar. I have the edfc kit but has not been installed. I do know that the way it works is by 4 motors mounts that sit on top of the strut. The only problem is the front strut tower bar which covers the top of the struts. I'm assuming by your statement there is a problem with the rear as well, which i have not been aware. Maybe i'll actually go look at it today and see what the deal is. Inclement weather is outside but i might take some pictures regardless.

I was actually told that you would have to remove the rear strut bar instead of the front from a couple of shops, because the motors are too large to fit inside the normal hole on the strut bar in the rear.

Was it an excess of downforce or really just an excess of cheap crap?

You car looks better without them.

svtmike....HAHA i guess you could say it was an incomplete design. I never got around to installing the second control arm for more structural stability. It worked for a sustained amount of time, but ultimately failed...reminds me of my first project car...the classic 65 mustang.

Lokius....The rear motor mounts should be able to sit on the rear struts without any clearance problems. The front is the only concern. However, i may be wrong. Ill check it out later in the evening.
On a side note...do you have any pictures of your carbon fiber trim kit im interested in seeing what it looks like. appreciate it.

I dont have any pictures of my interior kit, but I actually combined two kits from different companies, so I have more pieces than your supposed to... Since I dont have my car, I will see if my dad would take some pictures of them and I could host them.

Im waitin for an aftermarket front bumper which resembles the one on that tsx which features a center air dam.

cTLgo...i dont know man that tsx is nasty.

Lokius...I checked up on the rear struts and there is enough room to mount the rear motor mounts for the edfc. the front is where the only concern lies.

I must have had incorrect information. I will be purchasing the Tein SS and the EDFC, I'm pretty confident that by early june the issues have been resolved, and there is a new front tie bar out that will accept the EDFC. On the issue of lowering the car, I think I want to have a one inch gap between the wheel and the fender in the front and the back, so I will have to lower the front and back differently. Any idea what your current lowering height is??

I'm also going to purchase a camber kit, I know that it will help prolong the life of my tires, and I was wondering if you had any plans on picking one up, I know ingalls and comptech both make camber kits for our cars..

Lokius... I'm unsure of the exact drop in inches from stock height but i believe right now its sitting between 2 and 2 1/2 inches lower. There is still a good inch or more of adjustment that can be made meaning the car is not sitting at the lowest possible setting.

If you're planning to drop yours anymore than 2 inches, go with the SPC PERFORMANCE camber kit. I'm running this setup right now and havent experienced any problems. According to the alignment shop the camber and castor are both set at 0 degrees.

To my understanding, TEIN should be coming out with the SUPER STREET DAMPER WITH PILLOWBALL MOUNT. The pillowballs allow you to adjust the camber, which means you won't need a separate kit. If you wait long enough that could be an option.

I want an aggressive stance, but theres no way I'm lowering the car more than 2 inches. So I think I may settle for the tein pillowball mounts or a camber kit for the and rear. The shop I was looking at said I could order the Pillowball mounts immediatly, and that they would just add the price to the SS, but that it would make the ride alot stiffer. Currently I'm thinking that instead of hurting ride quality, I might just get teh camber kit, but if they both have the same affects on ride quality, I will just go with the pillowball mounts. I'm still waiting for the EDFC fix of course before I jump on any of these parts.

BTW, your car is looking great man, everytime I see your bronze Te37's I think I'm making a mistake getting the Progressiv Spokes in Mercury silver, over a Te37 in titanium gunmetal or diamond black. Just looks great on the TL!!

Based on the pics of the TL and TSX above, looks like someone's a big fan of the Fast and the Furious...sad to see nice cars reduced to a ricey mess...not that all of these mods weren't expensive with quality products, just that the cars start to look a bit silly, no?
