XLR8 J-Pipe is finally here!!!

We need a test fitter in the Phoenix, AZ area. We have designed the J-pipe around the TL-S j-pipe so we would like to test fit it on a base TL and a TL-S if possible. Both test fitters will get the J-pipe for a discounted rate, free installation, and free before and after dyno.

Looks like a very well made piece. I like the mandrel type construction. I guess a question that some may want to know is are they equal length?

Damn Josh, always doing the test fitting in Pheonix. Need to do it near you or tri-state area, i think you'll have people jumping all over that oppurtunity...

i know that BB exhaust is based out of arizona though...

i like the flow design, like we discussed months ago, that design will give the best gains.. similar to the ATLP J-Pipe, the two channels out of the pre-cats have longer seperate flows then the OEM pipe & RV6 pipe...

I would expect almost identical gains to the ATLP pipe... 10+ whp on just about Any 3G TL... especially one with a cat back exhaust system

Specs: primaries are equal length 2.25" piping T304 stainless steel to 2.5" collector with stainless steel flanges, hangers.

Pricing: it's not finalized b/c we still have to wait on production but I'm going to try to keep it in the $350 range.

hmm...looks just like ATLP J-Pipe....almost down to the bone with finish, size, flange, design....almost like an EXACT copy. good luck with the product, looks promising. I will still stay loyal to ATLP products

^ Yeah I was about to say... should've polished it up or something.

Hows the ground clearance? Better than ATLP?

Still pretty expensive... interested in the gains.

For 100% stainless...not stainless and mild steel flanges like ATLP, you did damn good. I was about to order a J-pipe and now I'm going to wait because this one looks a lot more promising. Good job excelerate!

LOL, thats a total ATLP knockoff

should have just came up with your own design thats what seperates one co. to the next. looks like you just bought mikes pipe and made a jig for it. only problem is, looks like your guy wasnt skilled enough like mike's, to make the front bank primary pipe one piece LMAO whats up with all those welded sections anyways? they'll just impede flow IMO. i dont care if it was billy boat who made it for you, could have done a much better job =/

thats an easy question to answer, ATLP ftmfw!!

richies is good, but mikes is great.

its little more expensive, but well worth the extra trust me! take it from somebody who's been through 4 different jpipe designs lol.

1st one, (labree)

2nd one, (california)

3rd one (richies)

4th one (ATLP mikes)

its the best sounding and performing one ive owned by far

we all know its obvious he copied mikes jpipe to the T but know he's selling it as a "XLR8" jpipe and for cheaper too basically undercutting mike and taking credit for everything that he's done for us in developing this well design jpipe. mike should sue him for copyright infringement LOL.

^ Seriously. I'm surprised Josh hasn't responded to anything yet.

I still like the RV6 J pipe though, based solely on quality and appearance since I haven't had the ATLP one on my car.

Plus people always talk about $/whp gain... even if the ATLP design yields more whp, is it worth ~$40/1whp?

Same with this one...

There isn't too many ways to make a j-pipe for the TL-S. I asked Billy Boat to make an equal length 100% stainless steel j-pipe and this is the design they came up with. We stand behind the quality of the product and as soon as we get a test fitter we will find out the gains on this unit. Also keep in mind this the first pipe that has been made.

Also everyone must keep in mind the amount of material put into this design: three stainless steel flanges, one large stainless steel collector, stainless steel flex section, stainless steel mandrel bent tubing, stainless steel hanger, etc The cost of steel has increased dramatically and so has transportation. We are hoping to keep this pipe at about $350, and we are hoping for 10whp and 10 ft lbs of tq. At that rate the j-pipe will be giving 1 whp for $35, rather than the usual 1whp for $100.

On average in the industry you will usually pay $100 for 1 HP. Not all parts equate to this but this is an average.

Gotcha. You should compare your $/whp to competing J pipes though... guess we'll have to wait til you get the dyno results

Yes, we will have to wait for the dyno.

So that is why we need a tester in the Phoenix, AZ area.

Just wanted to comment on this...

As long as Josh used a highly skilled TIG welder and they ground smooth the inside surface, no flow is impeded.... unless theres a kink.

But I do agree with you that it could've been fabricated with much less sections...

^ Well that would make sense but Josh hasn't mentioned anything like that... and if he's trying to sell a product, it would make sure to say that outright.

Look at the first post. This is not a sales thread. This is a thread to find a test fitter and check everything b/c this is the prototype j-pipe.

Good luck Josh
