Will J-Pipe add rasp?

Hey,

I'm putting on a Rv6 V3 j-pipe.

I currently have a stage 4 exhaust with Magnaflow 13365 mufflers.
It sounds low, deep, and loud under load. Very quiet during idle.
Looking to get a bit more growl and loud from the j-pipe.

Just wondering if I'll get rasp before getting it installed.

zachlone mentioned that jpipe adds rasp (he doesn't have a jpipe, but same exhaust setup as me), I'm not sure if I've read anything on that, so that's why I posted this.
I understand that PCD would cause rasp, but wondering if j-pipe will do the same.

Is it something I'll have to try out anyway since no one has the same setup?

I just found this video with the same setup as me but looks like he has the OEM resonator still, or dynamax.
It sounds sweet, but wonder how mine will differ with no resonator.

Cheers

We hear a tone difference with the RV6 V3 that we don't hear with XLR8 V2 and all ATLP offerings. To keep the rasp at bay without installing resonators, we would choose XLR8 or ATLP options.

I haven't heard the RV6 V3 in person, but I know our XLR8 V2 doesn't add any rasp. It pretty much adds a bit more growl and noise. You usually get rasp/drone when you start remove resonators and mufflers.

I am a noob to the stage game, I have an RV6 exhaust and J-pipe and I don't have any rasp, but I can't say that for the exhaust system you have. Slap the RV6 J-pipe on it and see what happens, if it's not to your liking add a resonator.

Check out RV6's post about RASP, it deals with RASP associated with PCD's but it's worth looking for your case to.

I think you can answer your question about what resonator he was using by looking at the users other videos that you linked, Hint Hint Dynomax in the video you posted and then back to OEM after his Dynomax split.

The Jpipe alone does not cause rasp. However with PCDs you will need to add or get a bigger resonator.
