Modifications for 2007 TL Type-S?

I purchased a 2007 TL Type-S a month ago and this is my first Acura. I am looking for some suggestions to modifications that I could do to make it look better as well as perform better. Any replies would be very helpful thanks! (I will be editing this post with a picture of my car)

hey drama!

What do you really want out of the car?
this question can only be answered by you and will be your goal for the car.

Do this by browsing the forums. you'll learn a lot just by reading.

after market parts are not cheap and making the car go marginally faster is an insane amount of money.

so, you'll have to ask yourself what do you really want from the car.
or in what areas do you think you can improve the car in.

for example; i really enjoy cornering.
the progress RSB has been one of the most enjoyable mods I have ever done to the car.
it lets me swing the back end out with a little bit of lift off over steer.

I guess what I want out of the car is maybe a little bit of gain in HP. Which I was thinking about a catback exhaust system and cold air intake. As well as making the car look sleeker and stand out more in a crowd.

as I mentioned the dollar to HP ratio is very poor.
a catback and a cold air intake system will set you back at the least $1200 and will yield you basically nothing in terms of performance gains but you'll make the car louder!

if you buy the items used; you may find a great deal.

Welcome and congrats on the car!

If you want some more power, the best mods are j-pipe and PCD/HFPC. Everything beyond that starts getting pretty expensive for very small (if any) gains.

As far as looks, there are many many options. Check out the photograph gallery section for some ideas of what other members have modified!

Welcome! love the color and nice buy on the Type S!

There are many before me and many that have done more but I have put about 4K or more into my car for performance in the past 8 months and have only seen very minimal gains. its really not worth it to be honest.

Exhaust and intake are sound makers with some HP gains, Jpipe is best, and PCD's then go Port and polished but that is where you start getting into things.

As far as looks, that is where you will enjoy most your money spent and not feel it was wasted as when you clean these cars up you get tons of compliments.

As others here said, A J-Pipe that deletes the third cat and some PCDs or HFCs are going to be a great place to start to pick up some extra power. After that, I think the Flashpro is your next best upgrade. We have our XLR8 V2 J-Pipe available on our website for $475 not including shipping. We also have great sale pricing on the Flashpro which you can PM me about!
