Version Base TL ATLP Exhaust

I've been getting a lot of complaints about making nothing for the Base TL, and now that I freed up a "new design" credit, since I didn't have to re-design the quads for the Base TL, I thought I'd see if there is any interest.

It would be a cat-back that would fit with the 04-06 Base TL bumper & BASE TL A-spec kit.

I've got something really sleek in mind, single tip..slanted, and a nicely done exhaust canister. Of course it would have the same mandrel pipping, beefy flanges, and attention to detail of the ATLP Quad Exhaust.

Well, here is your time if you ever wanted to scream at me for making something for the Base TL. Do we have any interest?

Let's keep it to constructive criticism. Haha, but thanks for the chuckle.

Depends on what the tips look like. I still want to hear a set in person before I start "wanting" exhaust.

Pretty sure you will have to show off the tips before anyone will go head over heels for it, dyno we know it will gain ponies, so it is all about the tips my dude

I'm sure you will get a number similar to the other 2 groups you've had.

I don't know about anyone else, but I still like the stock tips. I would like to see an exhaust that performances like the ATLP, but with the sleeper look.

I like the stock tips as well....I just don't like how little the opening inside the tip is

Another option could be some tips similar to the 996 exhaust tips, I think those would look great on the TL's fat ass

I think I am good to go with the greddy exhaust so I wouldn't be one to get this, but I would chime in and say how about a burnt tip hehehehe

I have much interest in this exhaust. Although performance is a main priority; tip appearance has kept me from purchasing a system. I envision something similar to the factory rectangular and slashed to the contour of the bumper however lets fill the gaps in between similar to the 2008 Lexus LS. http://www.lexus.com/models/LS/ “Go to photo gallery photo 7”

Secondly something similar to the 2008 Porsche Cayman S tip split down the middle http://www.porsche.com/usa/models/ca...man-s/gallery/ “Bottom Right photo”

Best of luck with production. I am in if the look is right .

I'm interested as well, since i got a AM. I can't really see myself buying the TL-S bumper, only to have to paint it, since they dont got TL-S in AM....Damn, i love them Quad tips though. lol. I'm interested to see what you come up with this one....

From what he's been telling me about this setup you guys will have to stay tunned for this one, sounds like he is planning something that's never been done before

Aznbo, wouldn't it just be easy to find a pair of tips that fit the factory opening and have them placed on the Type S exhaust?

Yeah, that's not the hard part.

The hard part is making something that will look good and get the approval from you guys. =)

I'll keep you guys updated.

That would be nice, but it would look cheesy. It wouldn't look as cool as the Type S tips. That is why I believe a stock looking (rectacular) tips would look the best.

Azndo, you should keep the same concept as you did with the Type S's. Tips that are direct replacement and similar to the stock ones.

Why not use the same brand of mufflers but a single round tip.

No, yo umisunderstood me, I meant to say was why not find tips that we like and have them placed on the ATLP Type-S exhaust piping, with a pair of mufflers that produce the sound we want.

That's the plan. =)

Now I have a few things in mind that I'll try to get some pics of.

If any of you have anything you really would like to see happen, chime in.

Can't u just use the exact ATLP u have now but change the very end of it? Instead of the dual circles make it a full box-like exit. It would look stock but have the benefits of increased diameter piping, ss, mandrel bending, etc.
If u look @ our tips it just a box decorative tip with a small cicular exit port. What if that entire box extended right out of the muffler and was all bored out so that it was trully functional not just a decorative tip?
So, instead of dual circular pipes from the muffler (current ATLP)--a single stock-like box pipe!
What do u guyz think?

This would save cutting or swapping out bumpers and lips. It would be especially awesome for AM owners who'd have to get those parts and paint them.

I would be very interested in this. I loved the concept and idea of the quad tipped exhaust but with the 07 lip and everything it was just to much. I really like this idea and keeping it stock looking would be awesome.

the ronjon kit actually compliments the current stock exhaust, if you look at the lines, it's perfectly straight if you've installed everything correctly.
http://ronjonwheels.com/hidden/bodykitprogress/65.jpg

however, i'd also be very interested in a TL setup for the base TL as long as the rectangular shape is preserved. I love the way it look on our TL

btw what's the piping involved? I tried to do a search but it kept bugging out on me (for some reason mozilla just kept on auto alt+F4ing) .. anyway, i was curious because I've already done aznbo's suggested stage 2 delete so i was wondering if that would end up getting changed?

Ballin' you losin your swagger mannn...

That was the ATLP Quad. This thread was for a new design that would fit into an 04-06 TL and Aspec without having to get the 07TL-S Aspec lip!!!!

I am need of this info quickly. I have a aspec kit sitting in my garage and am willing to ship the rear back if he can't come up with something to fit the base.

I know- I have the RonJon kit. My ride is in the 3G gallery section on his site ( line 43). I'm looking to change my exhaust AGAIN, and I'm interested in the quad set-up.
