Thinking about getting the AEM cold air intake

my friend has the new honda si coupe with a injen cold air intake, and it absolutely ROARS. however all honda si's are manuals, does that have anythign to do with the amount of sound produce by the intake???

i can tell you from experience that you'll notice a huge difference in sound, especially when the VTEC kicks in, with a CAI...i have the AEM CAI and noticed a HUGE difference in sound...both low end and high end RPM...

does your friend also have the typical coffee can exhaust tip on his SI? ...just curious, as that seems to throw people off with where the sound is actually coming from (engine vs. annoying ass exhaust)...

haha yeah all Si's have that weird exhaust, i absolutly blow the doors of his si, but the sound of his intake sounds sick. but his cars manual, mine tl is not.... does that play a role in the sound factor??

manual or auto shouldn't make a difference in the sound of the intake or whatnot...maybe he's shifting gears at a higher RPM than you, making his car sound louder...
