of course it's a good buy/value.
it's mandrel bent and not crushed bent, that's the biggest benefit.

Aluminized steel is a terrible material for an exhaust.

Buy stainless tubing.

I hear ya on the good stuff parts wise. Then again it could be that I'm letting my experience of variety available parts for my Mustangs cloud my opinion here.

Having said that, The 3rd gen TL's are beautiful cars, handle great for a 4 door, and even in factory trim have decent power. I am thinking a stroker motor and a turbo would be an excellent addition though. I need to research the transmission side of that though as I'd rather swap it at the same time as the motor rather than blow it up first.

haha yea theres more upgrades for Mustangs then there is for Acura TL's but I think with a little of custom fabrication... anything is possible lol I'm in Austin so there's not that many shops near me that will do import cars. If I were to get the straight pipes, should I get mufflers? or what is recommended? I always liked greddy's but i don't know what to get cause at the same time I want performance and great sound.

3G TL was only sold in the US (and briefly in China). This means there is substantially less aftermarket support than a car that's sold all over (STI's, 350z etc).

There are stainless steel catbacks available for our cars. All catbacks will fit all years, just depends on your car; you may have to trim your bumper if you want quad tips for example.

Check out the vendor section here on Acurazine.

Some Back Pressure

If your going to run a straight pipe, I’d definitely run a muffler. Engines run better with some back pressure as it helps to create a scavenger effect pulling spent exhaust gasses from the cylinders.

As for the lack of as of as many parts for a car sold only in the US, that makes complete sense. Hard to justify the expense of R&D for a limited market. Honesty, it really kind of makes you have to go old school and make something’s so that you can try new ideas.

Love Austin!

FYI, I use to live in Austin. I delivered parts for Roger Beasley Volvo. There are probably more shops than you think. Check the websites of parts suppliers and check for authorized dealers. That might point you to some. I’m in the DFW area, but am kinda new, so I can really comment on any shops up here.

That is a myth motors needing back pressure. To the OP, I have the trubendz 3" exhaust. It fit fine and I would say it is cheaper then getting a full exhaust.

Thank you guys for all the responses and suggestions. It helped me to figure out what I wanted. I also found a local shop thank you Smiley Autowerks! I was trying to see if anybody had installed or any videos with an electric cutoff exhaust installed to their 3rd gen TL. Suggestions, comments , reviews anything what is your opinion on them and would you install it?
