Sweet deal

Now that I am back stateside let's get this party started come on batch 3. With the amount of excellence you pour into your products Rich the wait is more than worth it. Loving the new strut tower bar by the way it definitely stands out in that engine bay of gray plastic. Thanks for all the time and effort you put into your work. It really stands out in the finished product.

Richie, can we get a pic from a little further back? and seems like those tips will end up looking small....wont they look similar to the tips from the initial batch?

do you have any other designs/ideas in mind?

Not bad, but IMHO I would rather have a tip more contoured to the base aspec opening for more of a sleeper/stock look.

Thanks for the video man! Your car isn't loud inside at all. What other exhaust modes do you have? Reason I ask is I already have Richies' PCDs and j-pipe. But if mine can sound like that, I'm sold!

right, why have two quad pipes?
if that were the case, why not just sell 1 version; the type s.

but for the sake of base, i think it needs to follow the OEM opening.

I agree with what everyone has said, Rich. I'd like to see a longer, more polish/chrome and "RV6" etched tip that mimics the oem base tip.

Basically, the base tip on steroids and since it has a double entry from behind, I'd like to see a split in the middle like the AWD new TL exhaust.

Something like this:
http://www.flickr.com/photos/rockstar143/7428273108/http://www.flickr.com/photos/rockstar143/7428273108/ by http://www.flickr.com/people/rockstar143/, on Flickr

Not to compare, but I think it would be something similar to the ATLP Base tip, but with the contour of the base/aspec opening more in mind. The ATLP doesn't taper back on the outer edge which makes it look too bulky IMO.

Excuse the rudimentary drawing, but something like this...

I jacked the picture from a Audi site. Yea the base cutout is way too small.

I am worried that having a single outlet muffler would change the sound.

Divided tips are very expensive to make since they require stamping dies. I need to swap bumpers and brain storm.

or even that same design WITHOUT the divider. Just the oem tip but a lot more robust and polished with your logo etc and dual entry!

Just ideas...personally, depending on HOW MUCH more it would be, I wonder if people would be willing to pay a premium for something like that.

I'm down for the type-s version, even if that means spending extra to buy the bumpers.

Thanks MEKO...I agree. If something like that comes to fruition...even at a bit more of a cost...it'd really be the most popular and "go to" base tip option possible.

Of course
Who would look at cost when it comes to tips

Main idea like you said "Basically, the base tip on steroids"
So it will stand out
+
1 tip with 2 outs just like you said how AWD 4g is
and the image you posted

wow even imagining that makes me happy haha
I personally don't like oval on TL too much, doesn't flow with the bumper
ATLP Base is ok closest but, it's side view is eeeh + will get sick of my dad making fun of me by saying, you paid that much money to put my old RL's exhaust tips haha
Looks just like it as I remember

Indeed...took the words out of my mouth.
Honestly, even if the divider is too much work, would be pretty cool to have a big base tip that fits the opening and is deep enough to stick out mildly but follow the contours of the bumper...

One day!

LOL. I felt the same way about the ATLP base tips. Don't get me wrong; they were kind of close, but not close enough IMHO.

Agreed...actually, if Richie mimicks something like that, but with a taper on the outer edges that matches the angle of the bumper as it progresses from the side of the car to the back. He'd have a winner!

GERCO, great video...that exhaust sounds awesome even with everything else stock.

Hey Rich,

You still interested in some free dyno time to test your products? My offer still stands but time is ticking. I'm sure everyone wants to see results!

Let me know so we can work something out. Otherwise, I'm just gonna order the exhaust and jpipe hfpc combo in the next batch and get it all done myself.

Rich,

How many have been delivered so far? If you are making 11 this month will I possibly be in that group?

I was originally #18 on the list.

If it's (maybe) coming this month might have to go with the old lady on black friday to make sure she doesn't spend my exhaust money!

just throwing these out there, i dont think they look bad at all. first three tips are from the dodge challenger, fourth pic is from the Hyundai Genesis Coupe maybe we can find some similar. What do you guys think?

first pic is kinda ATLP'ish

That is similar to what I was suggesting. I would pay for them, and I think the Base guys would likely not mind paying a bit more for a distinct look like this.

Agreed. The first couple are similar in a way but subtle, 3rd pic is similar to the 4th gen and the genesis coupe one i cant really see it flowing well but who knows, i just wanted to get the base tip suggestions rolling even more. I would gladly pay for a more distinct look without paying to have a new lip or bumper but i wouldnt mind doing so if we cant find such tips.

We finally worked out a deal with our welder and polisher and will start taking deposits on batch 3 next week. There will be a slight increase in price however we have the manufacturing process down.
