RV6 V2 True Dual Exhaust for '04-'08 TL Type-S Quads Batch 2 Collecting deposits

I apologize for keeping everyone waiting. This time around we wanted to be sure that all the details were figured before taking more deposits. We started this project almost 2 years ago with the intention of bringing a truly unique exhaust to the market. We succeeded in designing an exhaust that sounded amazing and produced solid gains in power. The only issue was our lack of experience manufacturing exhausts. With limited resources it took us much longer than expected to get product to our customers.

In order to expedite the manufacture of these exhaust systems. We have spent the last 4 months moving to a large facility and investing in new equipment. We also added several well skilled welders and polisher to our team.

The RV6 V2 True dual exhaust will be fabricated entirely in house. The product will remain mostly unchanged except for some minor tweaks. These changes include adjustments to the bend locations in order to allow for CNC bending. Also a completely brushed stainless finished, except for the tips of course. The resonator and tubing connecting tips to mufflers will also be changed slightly. As turbo systems are becoming more popular we will also be offering a 3.0” inlet option. We will have more details on this later.

The second batch will only consist of Type-S quads tips. These tips will be available in polished stainless and black chrome. This system will bolt up to a Type-S without modification. In order for it to work on a base TL you will need to get an ASPEC Type-S lip or Type-S bumper. These options will run you ~$250-300 factory painted. I feel this is a fair price to pay for the Type-S look. However we are still looking for a unique base tip at the moment for future batches.

Our major goals were to create a practical bolt on true dual exhaust system that sounded amazing and produced solid gains. By connecting a merge collector directly to the V3 Jpipe we form an X-pipe. The X-pipe keeps the exhaust pressure and pulses equalized. Therefore improving scavenging which clears the cylinders more efficiently of exhaust gases and helps with more complete combustion and flow.

Features:
2.25" Dual Piping
2.5" Inlet (Optional 3.0”)
Mandrel bends
TIG welded
100% Stainless 304 construction
Resonator

16 WHP peak gained
19 WTQ peak gained

As for pricing the second batch of the RV6 True Dual exhaust Type-S Quads will be offered at $1450 + shipping. There will be no discount with combo purchases. This is a very expensive system to manufacture. On our last attempt we ended up not breaking even.

Batch 2 will contain 15-20 exhaust systems. We will start collecting $200 deposits now from those that are serious about purchasing this exhaust. The estimated time of completion will be late April or early May. We will keep everyone updated on Acurazine and the FAQ section of our site.

Deposit Here

I know there will be many more questions. This is why we have created a simple FAQ section on my website; where we will keep an updated list of questions and answers. I do spend 2-3 hours a night answering questions hopefully this will allow me to sleep more and gets this project knocked out faster.

FAQ

Videos and reviews from batch from customers.

It really depends on how far it's going. I estimate 100-120 for Canada and 70-90 for domestic. That is pretty much how much the shipping ended up being for batch one.

If the ron jon is made for the base TL it most likely won't fit.

Richie, few questions

when do you think you might have a base TL tip?
is the 3" option extra?
do you need the RV6 v3 jpipe?
if we do not need the v3 jpipe then do we need something between the jpipe and true dual exhaust? (meaning either a straightpipe or atleast factory cat)

To be honest I haven't decided what I want to do with the base tips yet.

The 3.0" inlet option will be a swapable adapter and costs extra. How much i don't know yet.

You can use what ever jpipe you like. Of course we recommend the V3 jpipe.

Yes the exhaust is the same any other exhaust and connects after the 3rd cat.

richie, does your true dual exhaust produce HIGER gains than say, an XLR8 quad exhaust because of the change in design/piping?

Are you leaning towards smaller quad tips (to fit the opening of the 04-06 base and/or 04-06 A-Spec) or do you think that would look silly? In any case, if you ended up doing quads to fit an 04-06 A-Spec in black chrome, I will plunk the money down for the next offering as soon as they are available.

bumpers don't come painted from the dealer. only the aspec lip add-on pieces.

so...if someone has a base TL they need to buy the type-s bumper for $260 and then get it painted for probably the same price.

I would have to say yes our design will gain and support more power. Other than the sexy exhaust note. Here is how we came to the conclusion and decided to go with a true dual design.

Over the past couple of years we have noticed that there was more and more dyno prove that 3.0" and 2.75" exhaust were out performing 2.5" exhaust. Not just for Hondas but for all applications.

All 3G TLs have a 2.25" exhaust system. After doing some math we found a going from 2.25" to 2.5" doesn't really make that big of a difference in internal area of the tubing.

Assuming that all exhaust are made with a 16GA 0.065" walled tube. Here we will compare the internal area of the stock exhaust, the aftermarket 2.5" and finally our true dual exhaust.

Stock 2.25" exhaust

Area=Pi*r^2
Pi = 3.14
r= (2.25" OD - 0.065" Wall)/2 =1.06
Area = 3.14*1.06^2 = 3.53in^2
Stock exhaust internal area = 3.53in^2

Most aftermarket exhaust 2.5" 16GA tube

Area=Pi*r^2
Pi = 3.14
r= (2.5" OD - 0.065" Wall)/2 =1.185
Area = 3.14*1.185^2 = 4.41in^2
2.5" aftermarket exhaust internal area = 4.41in^2

2.5" exhaust percent increase over stock.
((4.41-3.53)/(3.53))*100 = 24.93% Increase

RV6 True Dual exhaust 2x2.25"

Area=Pi*r^2
Pi = 3.14
r= (2.25" OD - 0.065" Wall)/2 =1.06
Area = 2*(3.14*1.06^2) = 7.06in^2
RV6 True dual exhaust area = 7.06in^2

RV6 exhaust percent increase over stock.
((7.06-3.53)/(3.53))*100 = 100% Increase

RV6 Equivalent tube size.
r = SQrt(A/pi)
r = SQrt(7.06in^2/3.14)=1.5
Dia = ((r+wall)*2)
Dia = ((1.5+0.065)*2 = 3.129"
RV6 Equivalent tube size = 3.129"

As you can see the RV6 exhaust offers a 100% increase in internal tube area over stock while the 2.5" exhaust only offers a 25% increase. The dual tubing of the RV6 exhaust is also equivalent to a 3.129" exhaust. This is why we will be offering a 3" inlet for people with turbo setups.

But why not make a 3" exhaust? Have you ever heard a NA 3" exhaust sound this good?

You can make up your own mind. However I feel that 2.5" systems are only good for a louder exhaust and some pretty tips.

I can sign the exhaust and offer a certificate of authenticity

We did that last time and all I got was negative comments. People just couldn't wrap their heads around smaller cut = smaller tips. I would be open to suggestions. But a APSEC lip wouldn't be a bad choice for the money.

My mistake, bumpers are unpainted. Do you know if they are preprimed if so it shouldn't be that much to paint. The ASPEC would be a better choice since it doesn't require paint or much hassle.

For those base owners they can simply purchase the Rear Type-S ASpec lip and cutout their Base bumper.
There is a DIY on how to do this posted in the 3G Garage

Yeah I know what you mean FCVadi.
I had originally wanted this exhaust last spring but went with the ATLP Base for the tip and that it fit the Base Bumper.

Ritchies exhaust is a great product and I only wish there had been a better base option.
It seems that this true dual has much better flow characteristics vs a single 2.5".
Doesn't hurt that they come in the amazing black chrome finish.
