RV6 True Dual Exhaust for '04-'08 TL. Accepting deposits now

Introducing the RV6 true dual exhaust system for the 3rd gen TL. People have been asking for a RV6 exhaust for a while now. We wanted to make something different that would set our system apart from the other exhaust systems out there. After studying many exhaust systems we decided go with a true dual exhaust. By connecting a merge collector directly to the V3 Jpipe we create an X-pipe. An X-pipe keeps the exhaust pressure and pulses equalized. Therefore improving scavenging which clears the cylinders more efficiently of exhaust gases and helps with more complete combustion and flow. When combine with a V3 jpipe this exhaust produces amazing gains and sound.

Dyno tests were performed on an unmodified 05 automatic base TL with 60k miles using an AWD Mustang dyno. We choose this vehicle because it is most common among the community. Higher gains are to be expected with the 6 speeds and TL-s.

Alone this exhaust produces some impressive numbers with good gains in the mid range and top end. When paired with the V3 Jpipe the numbers are simply amazing with impressive gains throughout the entire powerband. Especially in the much needed low end and mid range.

Stock TL with RV6 Exhaust

So..

Installing just the jpipe will get you something like 13whp and 7wtq, and installing both the jpipe and exhast will net you something along the lines of 16whp and 19wtq?

I'd also be all over this - with different tips..

Hey Richie, nice work! For the base option, are you looking at tips that would be similar to the ATLP base squared ovals, or more rounded? This system looks very promising...especially for those of us with little to no mechanical mods...

Those pictures were taken right after the install. Fitment has been tweaked since then and looks much better now.

The tips shown in the pictures above are Magnaflow tips (not RV6) that were chosen based on other members' MF exhaust (ballinfizzle to name one). Looks great in person... at least that's what I hear from everyone else.

I've been thinking about making some products for the older cars. The only issues is that you guys aren't willing to pay.

These are just some tips we used on our prototype. They really don't look that bad in person. Now that we have a design for the piping and cans I am sure we can find tips to your liking. What tips did you have in mind I am open to suggestions.

I will get some dynos with PCDs when I have this system on my car. My tester isn't a big fan of PCDs.

We are still waiting for our prototype base tips to get in. Again the tips are easy now that the piping is complete.

The tester reports no drone at all. I did a lot of research on resonators and the ones designed for this system are custom.

^^^ yes you need a 07-08 type s rear lip I think you can make it fit on the base TL's with some modification, the black TL above in the pic is an 05 TL with 07 type s rear lip

Also, is that 'mid muffler' near the end of the exhaust necessary
I would remove that ish in a second...

I really like the sound of it from the outside. I kind of expected it to sound really loud. I like how quiet it really is, or so it sounds on the vid. It would be nice if you guys could film the car on a longer straight. So that we can here it at WOT going through gears, and just cruising through the gears. Great job!! Keep it up.

A lot of the loud noise we hear are the combustion gases merging into one pipe, a kind of crowding effect.. but since each pipe from the pre-cats and j-pipe will diagonally cross via the X-pipe, they essentially have a MUCH smoother flow.... as the crowding effect is no longer present, the exhaust will be much quieter.

Richie, was the purpose of the mid muffler a place to attach the hangar rods?
If I were to purchase this exhaust I'd be looking into removing that but it seems as if the exhaust would dangle in the case I remove the mid muffler. Any way around this?

Gains for PCD, V3 long tube j-pipe, and dual exhaust please!!!
A combined gain of 40+ hp would be impressive as hell.

You can weld hangers to piping, no problem. If there wasn't a resonator there, it would just be straight pipe (good or bad). The initial resonator was longer so it already has been shortened.

A single wall titanium tip shouldn't be that hard to do.

A non resonatoed version would rasp like no tomorrow. You can easily have it removed if you want.

Yes it will require a type-s bumper or aspec lip.

Since everyone has their own option on tips. Who would be interested in a tip less system the mufflers and hangers unwelded. That way you can have what ever you want welded on. It would be easier for me and I could sell it for $999 + shipping.
