Reversing the Sequential Sport Shift. Can it be done?

In the past, I've seen in car video of race cars with sequential shifters pulling down to upshift and pushing forward to downshift. As you know, this is the opposite of the SSS on the 3G TL.
I was just wondering if there was a way that the SSS on the 3G could be reversed. Has anyone done this? Is it as simple as reversing a couple of switches?
A couple of times, when on a spirited run through the hills, I have upshifted when I meant to downshift.
Any thoughts on this?

If it is the same as the 2nd Gen TL then yes it can be done. It's just a matter of reversing some wires (the system is electrical, not mechanical). Try searching the 2nd Gen TL forum for your answer.

I'd love to be able to do this as well, but I searched the 2G forums as suggested, but couldn't find the post on how this was done. Can anyone help?

From what I've driven, the German mfgs. have SSS set up - pull back to upshift, push forward to downshift.... Which actually makes sense to me...
The Japanese (TL, 350Z, G35), as we all know, do the opposite of this....

and the funny thing is, I don't like the japanese cars you metioned (TL, 350Z, G35) equipped with an automatic transmission. 6-Speed manual all the way!

You are SO right-- that is funny! A guy is asking good question and needs some help-- and you just have to mention how funny it is that you don't like his car!

I bet when you were a little kid your mother had to tie a porkchop around your neck to get the family dog to play with you . . .

If the 3rd gen set-up is anything like the second gen set-up, all you have to do is flip two wires. I can tell you which ones specificlly when I get home, or you can do figure it out by trial and error with a volt-meter.

I did this mod to my 2k1 CL-S about 4 years ago. It was very easy, just switched 2 wires and it took a few minutes ( removing the trim pieces took a while ).

This "pulling to up shift" just seemed more natural to me. But in the end, I didn't use sportshift much.
