resonated atlp

is there an option to get a resonated ATLP quad exhaust for my tl-s or is there just one style which is non resonated?

Let me know if i can get a resonated optino from mike or if it comes factory resonated.

Thanks

Not sure about the resonated, I have the regular and its pretty loud but sexy loud. I get compliments all the time. PM Mike, he'll know. There are videos on youtube of the regular version, I don't think anyone yet has wanted an resonated version.

when you say its sexy loud, does it sound anything like thoose honda civics with huge exhausts that make a REALLY loud annoying sound?? I placed a deposit for it and i hope its not too loud.
On a scale from 1-10, 1 being the quitest and 10 being the loudest how would you rate the stock exhaust loudness?

And the ATLP non resonated from 1-10?

Srry for all the dumb question im just excited and curious at the same time.haha

its loud but nothing ricer about it. Its a very nice loud and has its own unique exotic tone.

Compared to stock I would rate it an 7/8, but hey your 20. The noise doesn't bother us anyway. On the expressways if you have the radio on you will barely hear it. On normal street driving you definitely hear it but its not too much. Most of the times, I floor my car under freeways and overpasses just to hear it. You wont be dissappointed.

I currently have the non-resonated ATLP exhaust and have been pulled over twice and ticketed for it in VA Beach so far. It can be pretty loud when combined with the jpipe and race pipe (3rd cat delete) -especially at WOT. In an effort to tone it down I have ordered the resonated midpipe from ATLP and added a high flow resonated 3rd cat in order to tame it down a bit. I can't wait until all of the parts get here. Hopefully that will be enough.

diamondblues....I'm interested to see how much quieter your exhaust gets. I have the same combo...but was hoping just a 3rd high-flow cat would do the job. And, not require welding on a resonator too. Have you thought of that? Maybe, doing the cat first. Keep us posted.

I have ATLP quads, ATLP j-pipe, RV6 precat deletes and test pipe. It is really loud and the drone is ridiculous although it does sound amazing. I just bought a 2.5" vibrant resonator that is 18" long, will this help much with the drone?

I have since, taken off the ATLP and sold it. It was only weeks until I couldn't stand how quiet my car was. I now have a XLR8 resonated quad exhaust. I am very happy with it...a tad bit quieter, nice deep tone...but still that annoying drone from the rear. I'm thinking of Dynomating the trunk area even though it may not help much.

I added a 2.50" Hushpower HP 2 high flow muffler to my ATLP midpipe. I tried a Magnaflow straight through muffler but it didn't do much. The HP 2 is nice, flows well, has a few internal baffles/deflectors, made the exhaust note tolerable. I figure a resonator wouldn't do enough. Really it's only between 2-3K RPM, under load.

I was about to get rid of the ATLP too. Glad this worked out. I'm also going to add sound deadening material above the HP 2 and maybe the rear mufflers.

It was too quiet with the resonater on the ATLP? Did the resonator quiet it that much, or did you mean the stock exhaust was too quiet? How much difference did it make adding the resonator?

SO you actually added an extra muffler? I hope this resonator works...

Sorry, I wasn't clear...my car was too quiet at stock. Adding a resonator quieted the ATLP and my XLR8, but a little bit. But did nothing to eliminate the drone.

I wonder if you are lacking in low-end torque, as with these mod's you have severly decreased the backpressure.
(Some is required)

if you really want to get rid of the drone, and dont mind spending a day, take apart your entire interior, scrap off the shitty sound deadener and then put dynamat where it use to be. you will be surprised how much that will help. i just redid the interior on a flood vehicle, and used dynamat and its so much quiter than before. and it was stock

If you want to eliminate most of the droning from an aftermarket exhaust, consider the Comptech catback.
