Removing 3rd Cat

I'm also curious to see how this sounds and does deleting your mid muffler increase performance at all or is it strictly for noise? lol. I want to do it anyway, but any performance boost would be a plus. Did you notice that much of a difference in the exhaust tone when you deleted the mid muffler vs stock? I've heard it gets deeper like a G35ish tone.

Yeah, it sounds a lot better. Im hesitant on cutting out the 3rd cat because I like the sound so much right now.
Its barely noticeable at idle, but from about 2600-3200rpms it sounds amazing.

If you pull out the resonator you risk gettin a rasp. The mid muffler also does a good job of toning down rasp but the resonator is the main part that cancels it out.

It sounds really nice! I had that done a while back. Just keep the resonator on so you don't get all the rasp .

I removed the resonator (no cat, no mid-muffler, no resonator) and there is a bit of drone at highway speeds. I imagine it's very very mild when you still have the resonator.

Yes, you will have some drone. It doesn't annoy me but then again I don't drive on the highway that much.

You can take it out if you have your stock resonator, I don't think you'll have any drone.

DONE! Cut the 3rd cat and the resonator (the long tube looking part) but kept the mid muffler before the 2 real mufflers..SOUNDS subtle but AWESOME. Especially around 3 grand. I am supercharged...and it feels livelier...but it could be in my head.
I wonder if i grabbed 1 hp or 2.....

I'm surprised you can hear it over the whine from the supercharger. I have a supercharger installed and the Excelrate exhaust When I'm "on it" I hear the exhaust first until 3k -4k then all supercharger.

Edit: All of these "pre-cat" deletes will prevent the car from passing smog in Cali correct?

I dont think your crazy. By getting rid of the 3rd cat you got rid of the partial bottle neck that you had in your car.
