oil cooler

I think it's a good idea especially with a supercharged engine with it's elevated oil temps during hard use.
I would make sure it warms up reasonably quick, too cold of oil is not good either. You can use the kit from Summit that has an electric fan and thermostat mounted to the cooler. Fan doesn't come on until 170 degrees. Mount this out of direct airflow and it shouldn't hurt oil warm up too bad.
If you want sort of the same effect, a quality 10w-30 true synthetic oil will help. If you take the normal operating oil temp of 200F and raise it to 220 degrees which is very easy to do with a supercharger, the 30wt at 220F is now the same thickness as a 20wt at 200F.

Ok as the turbo install nears, this issue really needs to be addressed. I am looking into a relocation since the sandwich idea seems to put the filter too close to the suspention. I have had good luck with Earls oil coolers on my vintage Mustang, thick and durable housing and good temp drop. I know our filter has been used by Honda on other cars, so I am hoping I can find a relocation kit. Anyone with any info on a kit that fits would be great.

Honestly an oil cooler shouldn't help much in a daily driven application...Only time I see use for one is if its a permanent road course vehicle where the RPMs will be up consistently heating it up enough to need it. If you do it for street apps you can cool the oil too much and it will work against you. Trans coolers are different.
