From Vivel the mouse movie: WeeWease the seecwet weapon!!

Is that the weapon R intake system? I remember on my acura legend that was the first mod to the engine and i loved it...carbon fiber and all!

Great way to make the guy feel good about his purchase. ACCURATEin seemed to like his on his Legend. Have you even tried this specific product out on your TL?

Excellerate is in the business of knowing good parts from ~other quality~ parts

While the short ram shown does sound trick- right idea etc- even their testimonials are just butt dyno opinion and "my intake sounds cool man!"

Before buying anything not fully refundable- check acurazine members first- chances are someone has tried the product you seek.

Since the OP went to JCW he is fine if it doesnt work, just return in 60 days or less for full refund

Just look at the opinions on brake rotors and pads- we are an opinionated bunch!!!

That is the most unprofessional response I have ever heard from any business person. I'm quite dissapointed.

I completely agree. This is a good way to get people to NOT buy from you. I am in sales and I never bash the competition. It's 100% unprofessional!

I think you will be fine for the time being. Just make sure when it's time to replace the filter go with a K&N replacement, or something reputable at least. The rest is all the same, an aluminum pipe.

Don't buy into the hype.

We're not talking about the hype of the brand name. A pipe is just a pipe. We're talking about the difference between a CAI and a short ram.

Well I'm sorry to the OP if I hurt his feelings but I did mean what I said. I could have softened it up but yes I do have experience with this company/product. In the past the product didn't fit correctly and was missing parts and was just all around cheesy.

More recently I figured I would give them a second chance. I ordered one for a local customer who had a 1st gen TL 2.5L 5 cylinder. It was a $175 short ram intake. The intake didn't fit and numerous parts were missing. How do you mess up a short ram intake (the pipe was 6" long). I could make a short ram intake fit and I don't even fabricate or weld. That is unacceptable. So I had to waste my time taking hte car apart, finding out the intake doesn't fit and discovering many parts were missing. Then I had to take time to talk to them on the phone and send pictures. Then I had to put the car back together and wait for the new pieces to ship.

That is why I think they are horrible and that is why I don't deal with companies like that. I never have that problem with AEM or Injen or FUJTIA or Comptech (RIP).

And I'm sorry but that wasn't the most unprofessional response ever. I wrote:

You just wasted your $. Weapon R is horrible. Their intakes suck. Poor quality and poor QC.

So please don't exaggerate. And I'm not bashing the competition b/c I have sold their product. It would be competition if I were AEM and saying Weapon R sucks.

Apologizing and backing up what you said nullifies it. That may not be the "most unprofessional response ever" but it's pretty damn close. Don't patronize me by apologizing sarcastically. You just made it worse then if you had just left it alone. If you want to go word for word about what I said, then yes, your response is really unprofessional. I was merely looking at it as an opinion, but to tell someone that they wasted their money and made a horrible choice.....thats just bad from a business standpoint

Vendors can't offer opinions?

If I were to invest my hard earned money on a part I would sure want to know if this part was legit., effective and quality made. It doesn't matter how the opinion is conveyed just that it is.
Josh is certainly not throwing barbs at another vendor here. It seems as though he has always worked with members here to give them great service and prices. If an items I am interested sucks I want to know it. My ego is strong enough to take the "S" word.
This also gave him a chance/choice to return this item, he chose not to. We are all adults here.

If there is a requirement that vendors are to be PC, then I guess your in trouble Josh.

Sorry, not to stray from the intent of the original post.

I didn't apologize to you. As I said I apologized to the OP if I was harsh although he never commented on it. But what I said is true. It just could have had a softer touch.

I have been working 16 hours a day for 2 weeks with less than 5 hours of sleep each night so I wasn't at my best when I wrote it but I'll be certain to remember that forums are not the place for information/experiences/opinions and I should keep my comments to a minimum so as not to offend anyone needlessly.

And let's not hijack this guy's thread with our banter. Back on topic.

I like reading negative posts regarding products... I trust Excelerate's opinions. In his original post he didnt hype anything he was selling.

Its good to know that he thinks its trash, as a business person you wont stay in business long selling crap or promoting it.

I would keep looking for other CAI or Short ram intakes and see what others say about those.

Just so there is no misunderstanding, i know that you did not apologize to me. There would not be a need for an apology to me. That is not the apology i was talking about.

"I'll be certain to remember that forums are not the place for information/experiences/opinions and I should keep my comments to a minimum"... classy

good job vendor/businessman

This will be the last post i will put on this thread so that the MODs dont get upset and close it. No reason for the OP to have his thread closed because of other people's opinions of actions.

ive had my intake in now for about 3 weeks..no promblems everything works fine, def could feel a power increase and it sounds amazing..im also happier it is a short ram due to the excessive rain and snow we get here..dont want a cai just to be sucking in water and debris..im going to try and get some pictures up by the end of this week

You're going to notice an extreme performance difference between summer and winter, when it it starts sucking up hot engine air. Another alternative would have been the K&R CAI as it has both a short intake configuration and a a full sized configuration. It was my first choice and I would have bought it if, I hadnt found fantastic deal of my injen cai for a $100

Just letting you know that if you can still return it and get the K&R, it has both short ram intake and cold air intake configurations in one, so you get the best of both worlds and can change configurations easily.

Did AEM ever make the V2 for the 3rd gen.? I put one of them on my Integra. Nice low/mid range bump. I would love to get one for my TL. Even though it's not a 07 TL-S!

There is no V2 for the 3rd gen TL. There is the regular CAI though which makes good gains on the 3rd gen TL - about 15whp.
