Is my engine mount bolt supposed to look like this??

Is my engine mount bolt supposed to look like this??

if not can i tighten it and then go kick the ass of the guy who installed it? or do i need a mechanic to mess with it?

they are aftermarket mounts XLR8s

Whoa! That does not seem right, it should be flushed. It's either the wrong bolt or it was not tightened and unscrewed due to vibration. I don't have those mounts but I hope that's not the tightest it can get. Can the bolt move? You should let the shop know about this.

It's a flanged bolt. It should be flush.

That's not right at all. The mounts are direct replacement mounts which mean they are direct bolt-on. All the bolts will go in the same position and thread down the same way. It appears that the threads of that bolt are cross-threaded or damaged. I would get a new bolt or run that bolt through a tap to make sure the threads are good.

from the picture those threads look jacked up. It could just be glare though.

No, I think you're right. Threads look smashed. Pray it's just the bolt, but use a thread chase once you find a bolt replacement as mentioned above.

im wondering if they jammed it in there to "tighten it" and it just slipped out with vibration because the bolt threads and receiver threads are completely gone..
