all cold air intakes are the same.

the difference you ask? it is the sticker applied to the tubing. some stickers will cost $100, others will cost $200.

all cai regardless of brands are the same.

I have a V2, its probably slightly better than the normal AEM CAI but.... all of them are pretty negligible. Buy whatever one you want/is cheapest

If youre in a state that requires your car to be slogged (like Cali) then get a name brand CARB legal intake, if not get a cheap eBay intake with a name brand filter. Done and done.

Not all cold air intake is the same. Different pipes will effect diffferet IAT's. Only common thing they all have is sucking cold air.

CAI = Massive waste of money for a sound maker, period. Lowest hp/cost ratio of all available options. You're just as well off removing the stock resonator and calling it a day.

Most people prefer the AEM V2 for the 3rd gen TL, at least based on our sales of CAI's for the 3rd gen TL.

I have a K&N Typhoon series and I have seen a good 2-3mpg boost overall. Sounds awesome too.

I had a CAI on every car I had, brands such as Evo motorsports, AEM and K&N and now I bought the "cheap ebay CAI" with K&N filter and its sounds great, only 65 $ with free shipping.

I just put on an AEM v2 because i got a real good deal on it and honestly i don't hear much of a sound difference but acceleration may be a little bit better. I have only had it on for 3 days though so not much of a help now that I am typing this haha.

Do you guys actually gain any power from CAIs? I know in the NSX world we lose power. Might gain a hp or 2 by swapping out to a high flow filter. Same story with my old Saturn Ion Redline. I lost 7hp (Dynoed proven) with a K&N CAI. K&N claimed a gain of 14hp. All they seem good for is(like stated above) is more engine sound.

Little or none. Maybe a couple HP. Maybe.

The TL intake is already draws air from outside the engine bay and seems pretty efficient.

I do NOT care what any1 says.
This is for the OP.

Until someone straps there car on a dyno stock and while on the dyno puts an AEM or Injen or Ebay or whatever.... I do NOT want to hear it.

It made a HUGE difference in the mid-high end .... end of story.

I had an aem cai on my CL-S, didn't make anymore noticeable power, but it did sound quite heavenly upon hard acceleration. I am not bothering with one on my TL-S.

I'll wait for the AEM V9, which guarantees no water will get up into the engine.....

CAI provides the SLIGHTEST increase in air flow. At best, maybe 3 horsepower gained, in your higher RPM and most often, you lose some torque in the low end, because you're simply shifting power.

Since you need torque to move, your car may actually be SLOWER. However, 3 ~ horsepower is not enough to make any noticeable increase.

But the words "cold air intake" and "significantly faster" have absolutely no business being in the same sentence.
