Loudest Exhaust?

I am curious what exhaust is the Loudest...by loudest I mean if i pulled up to a row of cars whom all have their stereos on and windows up that they still hear me drive by them.

I'm under the assumption this award goes to the Evo2 but i just want to check.

After a long battle of trying to sell my car/buy a new car and fighting the economy's damage on the banks i gave up trying to get a viable loan for a new car which sucks because it only adds to the issues the car industry is having.

So final verdict is the TL is finally getting worked out.

Thanks in advance guys.

P.S. is the ATLP J-pipe still the best in the business for the TL?

Has anything new came out in the last 6 months worth noting for modifications?

Any non-resonated catback will be loud.

I'd say the louder ones would be the Greddy Evo2, ATLP non-res, XLR8 non-res, custom straight pipe

As for the j pipe, all you gotta do is search. People compare these things all day and both companies (ATLP & R-V6) have loyal customers. It comes down to things like finish, quality, design and pricing. I believe R-V6 is currently having a GB for his j pipe and test/race pipe right now for $360 shipped. You should wait til Richie sorts out his flex pipe hissing issue though.

Last 6 months... hmmm. Not really. Tanabe released a catback exhaust thats resonated and very similar to the Comptech one. The AEM V2 cold air intake for the 7G Accord (<- I think) can fit the TL. The people that have it enjoy it more than the regular AEM CAI for the TL.

If I were you, I'd get a resonated catback, precat deletes, an aftermarket J pipe and a high flow cat

Oh, and a UR crank pulley. I get mine in tomorrow!

In terms of installation, do all the exhaust stuff at once... you'll be under the car anyway, might as well right?

IMO Greddy EVO2 is the loudest. And that is comparing it to an ATLP quad in person.

As far as j-pipes, you can't go wrong with either ATLP or Richie's (R I think). I have Richies's and very happy with it!

One of the hottest thing out right now, is the precat deletes that you can also get from Richie. It seems to add alot of top-end power.

I'm sure alot of the guys who has install these will chime in.

Welcome back and good luck!

I need to find my old list of mods I had written it all out.

I probably won't do pre-cat deletes just yet. To many variables as the car is my daily driver.

Though since its the 2004 model I am curious if the CT S/C is still the only viable boost for the TL...still no turbo i assume

Yeah CT SC is the only option thus far. You can always try a custom setup

Anyway, a lot of people view the precat deletes are "unreliable". I don't see it that way and I don't think anyone running the deletes shares that view either. What are these variables you speak of?

Inspection...and passing said inspection...having to take them off and on to pass inspection. Yeah its once every couple years but its not something i'm ready to do until other parts of the car are completed.

My TL needs a lot of fine-tuning since I've wacked her with 102,000 miles since 2004. I have a lot of engine stuff to do first. (CAI, Timing Belt, Water Pump, J-pipe, Exhaust) get all the little things fixed up. Then from there work on the stuff thats a variable.

Also I am considering a two-tone paint job....My car needs a full repaint its currently NHBP and its seen a lot of road...dings/scratches...I'm was thinking either a White front faded to a black back. or a Black diagonal top over a White bottom.

Any thoughts?

The only nice 2 tones I've seen at WDPs with black vinyl roof overlays. I wouldn't do it but its your TL.

i personally like the black roofs on WDP .. so i did it to mine.. lol

I think there are only 2 real two tone cars on here.. (where not only the roof is just a different color)

here are pics of some two tone cars.. looks good!! u just need the mods to go with it to make it work..

ACCURATEin's car through its phases (Ive downloaded I think every pic he has posted lol):

Acura TL Race Car:

I forgot whos car this is, but the only real two tone TL I have seen that is not a race car.. looks good IMO!

Other random cars:

I'd be shooting for the other race car's two tone look except with White Pearl front and fade into Black Pearl w/ full black A-spec kit...tho im curious on pricing of a custom paint job of this magnitude and any shops around me good enough to do it.

Yeah but i get the feeling a paint job like this will cost 10g or more. Which is something I can't shell out in this economy.

3K????????? As is $3000?????????????????

I paid a professional auto body shop $175 to respray my front bumper. They do work for all the high end dealerships in the area.

Okay to get a full car painted by a really good person a full inside and out side job should run about 8 grand or more. That is with tons of coats of paint and like 3 coats of clear. You give me $3000 to get your front bumber painted and I will hold on to the rest of the money just in case you need it painted again.

Just remember that with the money you put into your car if you decide to sell it your not going to get what you paid for especially an expensive paint job. Good luck with your decision.

To be honest its a 2004 TL...its already worth garbage when it comes to price it would likely actually make it more valuable. Surprising i know.
