So it is confirmed that the new 07 TL TypeS will be using the J35A5 block which is the same as the 04-06 MDX and the RL. (According to this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Honda_J_engine#J35 )

Does anyone know if the 04-06 MDX block would fit and bolt up to a Automatic TL?

All you have to do is change the crankshaft and rod from the J35A5.

the motor itself should be the same though. if you change the crank/rods, it has nothing to do with the tranny.

a bareblock is only around $500 brand new, but that does not include anything inside such as the crankshaft, piston, rods, bearings, etc.

A complete TL block is around $1100 brand new.

I also checked out the 3.7L block from MDX. Seems like it has a bigger bore and longer stroke. Maybe we can use that block as well so someone should try it out and confirm that....lol
