Holy shit, I just realized something...
is this your daily driver?

Dude, you can't afford a windshield but you're making 1/4 runs on an auto transmission that's known to self destruct under normal driving circumstances? Do you have any idea what a new one, or a rebuild would cost?
I'm baffled, but I've also just never been one to only live for today...

honestly, if you get it all torn down like that with everything exposed...
look to pick up a 6MT! just up the gofuckme amount to cover it too!
I'm guessing you're doing it to swap over to plexiglass instead?

if the car is paid off, I would hold onto it.
if it isnt, get rid of it!! well, probably cant sell it cuz it looks like the terminator or robocop

my car is paid off and I'd likely not get rid of it for another 5-6 years...and even then, if its still treating me well. id still keep it

Any mods from here forward need to be free. My trans shows no signs of quitting. 163k miles and have more passes than this under my belt.

Well, if you use it for autocross or track only, I figured that a 6MT would just add to the fun factor.
Why don't you just sit tight until you get the funds back together, man? Why go a completely different direction?
We're super lucky in Florida...insurance will replace one windshield a year for free...only thing you pay for is if
they can't reuse the glass framing or maybe a gasket.

Im not swapping 6MT until I have the money and until i make records that are damn near impossible to beat with the exact mods I have. Stock internals with just bolt ons is all I'm working with. I want that record to not be broken for years to come

What number do you think is unbeatable? You seem defensive...there was a little fun in there, but nobody was trying to ridicule you so I'm sorry if it came off that way. I just think it took big balls to ask people to fund your project when you're not even able to do that. That's all.
And ps, hate to break it to you, but money buys a LOT of things...meaning someone with more expendable income and similar drive could easily buy lighter bolts and parts and throw more money at the car JUST to be this record you're after if they so desired.

Just food for thought...

i know it's what makes us human. The drive to be better than each other. The competitive nature of us.

Plexiglass is significantly lighter than glass

The might as well do the rest of the windows , sunroof, and rear windshield too.

Yeah, I'm most positive that thread looking for Tim was just to ensure he was dead and would never post anything faster than OP again!

It's still not good enough and I'm not satisfied. 13.8 is still a very average time to me. I haven't reached the theoretical limits of my gearing. With a dead hook off the line I see a 13.68 @ 101-102 very possible with perfect track prep.

Why obsess so much over a number? My 13.70's would be 13.40's-13.50's with a decent 60', but I don't really care. It's much more fun beating unsuspecting cars on the street anyway.

I obsess about it because I don't have much going for myself otherwise at the moment. It's the only thing that makes me happy

Damn brother,
I mean this sincerely...find yourself, pick up some hobbies,
preferably free ones like mountain bike or painting or something.
You don't want your world falling apart when your car stops working.
I mean it...you ever feel like asshole, feel free to PM me. Life can be
fucking awesome.

A friend came over and we rolled or attempted to roll his fenders! Got one done with the rolling tool, but maybe created slight bacon wavy fender.

Again, don't know where to put this, but seems appropriate cuz car wrenching.

This is good advice man. You don't ever reply to these posts, but you need, need, need something else in your life. Fuck a car. In the end no one gives a fuck what your time is. And if you really do, you need to go talk to someone. Maybe some former Acura owner who now owns a V. That gives you lots of options!
