The car feels noticeably quicker after putting my street tires back on. Those RE71R's are way, way stickier than my Sport Comp2's. The difference is night and day. That video is after putting the street tires back on. I'm 100% sure I could pull a 13.6 if I can keep the wheels from spinning.

One way I can tell the car moves more effortlessly with my old street tires is actually because of the rpms. Since my car is so loud, I can judge the amount of load on the engine just by listening to it. It works slightly less to get the car moving from a stop. Can't wait to see what kind of mileage I get with my normal front tires. I was getting about 24 average mpg with an average speed of 26 mph (yes, 26, weight reduction ftw), over a distance of 250+ miles for over 9 hours of driving.

It was a pretty sizable difference. I should have never bought those other tires. They are meant for autocross anyway

Dynoed the car after adding the 3 inch single exit exhaust. Hate to say it but I made some solid gains all around contrary to popular belief that a 3 inch exhaust doesn't do much on an NA car. Weather conditions were identical to my run in April (40-45 degrees, 45-50% humidity). Same time of day. Same dyno location (JE Import Performance in Rosedale, MD), same type of Dyno (DynaPack).

Gained +4hp at the wheels and +12 torque at the wheels. Just by going to a larger catback.

Old Setup - 3.25 Inch Cold Air Intake, 3.7 Intake Manifold, 3.7 Throttle Body, Unorthodox Racing Underdrive Pulley, RV6 HFPC's, ATLP V2 J Pipe, 2.5 Inch Test Pipe (Third Cat Delete), 2.5 inch in/out straight-through Vibrant Ultra Quiet Resonator, XLR8 non resonated Base Duals Catback with Rear Mufflers removed and replaced with 2.5 inch straight pipe, air and fuel regulated by the AEM Fuel/Ignition Controller.

Old setup dynoed 239 whp/218 wtq

New Setup - 3.25 Inch Cold Air Intake, 3.7 Intake Manifold, 3.7 Throttle Body, Unorthodox Racing Underdrive Pulley, RV6 HFPC's, ATLP V2 J Pipe, 3 inch test pipe, 3 inch DynoMax Racing Bullet straight-through resonator, 3 inch single exit catback straight pipe all the way to the rear of the car, air and fuel regulated by the AEM Fuel/Ignition Controller.

New setup dynoed 243 whp/230 wtq

The whole purpose of this was just to see if my last number from my last dyno went up in any way at all and to be certain that I didn't lose power down low. Torque loss was very minimal and I gained more power the higher the revs went as you'll see in the video. I can't speak on bone stock versions of my car but on a full bolt on base auto such as mine, yes, with the proper supporting mods, I can vouch to say that a single exit 3 inch exhaust will in fact give you a gain over an exhaust setup similar to my old one.

The low-ish numbers of DynaPacks favor accuracy over inflated figures that you'd see on a DynoJet. Car runs great. I don't feel whatever minor torque loss occurred but it pulls good above 2500. I am done. 5 dyno sessions with 3 pulls each is enough for me. This is after running the car 30 times at the track in the heat since my last dyno run in April.

Nice gains! Makes me feel better I went 3" as well. Can you posts the before/after dyno chart?

I'll have to see if I can find it but the charts in the video have all my runs on both sheets. The solid lines were today, the dotted lines were from previous runs.

I see that you gave up a lot of low end power From <3000 rpm , but gain midrange and top end. Maybe with camshafts you can make up the difference in power?

But it is good to see you keeping track of your mods . You are on the right track bud

And way WAY more pronounced lift-throttle exhaust pop. There isn't MORE of it, just the existing pop with more of a louder punch

I'd see a bigger gain from my 3 inch exhaust if I had the ATLP V2-R J pipe instead of the normal V2 which I have now. Current one has a 2.5 inch collector on it, whereas the V2-R has a 3 inch collector

Then maybe you should watch this video I made. It's not a high 13 second car from a roll. I'm copying and pasting the video description here.

"I synced up and matched 3 different videos of two G37's and one 350Z HR (all 3 with varying levels of modifications) to my car's speed (70-110mph) which is the same as theirs. The result? Interesting. I keep up with the first two and slightly beat the 3rd.

My car - 2006 Acura TL Base 5 speed auto with 3 inch AEM Cold Air Intake (at the time of recording), 3.7 Intake Manifold, 3.7 Throttle Body, Intake Manifold Spacer, Intake Manifold Thermal Gasket x1, Throttle Body Thermal Gasket x2, Throttle Body Spacer (useless for now), EGR Bypass, Ram-Air Mod, High Flow Pre Cats, Lightweight Underdrive Pulley, ATLP V-2 J-pipe, 3 Inch DynoMax Race Bullet Straight-Through Resonator, 3 Inch Single Exit Catback with no rear mufflers, Lightweight wheels and lastly over 550lbs removed from the car putting it a few pounds below 3000.

Now on to the other cars:

First car - 2008 G37 coupe 6 speed manual with test pipe and axleback exhaust (brand unknown)

Second car - 2012 G37 sedan 7 speed auto with full exhaust from the motor back (brand unknown)

Third car - 2007 350Z HR 6 speed manual with Nismo S-Tune, Stillen Y Pipe, K&N drop-in filter and Cobb Stage 1 ECU Map

Looks like the stock versions of these cars have something to be very worried about. From a stop my car is average performance (high 13 second car). From a roll....well you know where I'm going with this.

Don't sleep on the TL..."

I don't know about some of these. A 6MT C5 would annihilate you in the real world. They're a legit 12.9-13.1 @ 109-110mph car in the quarter. The HR Z with those mods is easily good for low 13's @ 107-108. A Cobb pro tuned STi traps 105-107, and the SS and C5 auto will both trap 105-106. The '08 Mustang Vert would give you no problems stock, and the G's are certainly manageable.

4 inch intake gave me gains over 3 inch. Read the video description which I'll paste here -

Only thing that's changed since my last dyno run is going from 3.25 inch AEM Cold air intake (part number 21-513c) to a custom 4 inch intake with oversized air filter.

Today's dyno run was a success. The 4 inch intake made a difference. Gained 3whp and 5wtq at 6200rpm (the peak rpm from all previous dynos), but for the first time they ran it to as high as the torque converter would allow (6600-6700rpm) and now I see my true peak power figures which is 246whp and 235wtq (291hp and 278tq at the crank), 275whp and 260wtq (325hp and 287tq at the crank) if done on a DynoJet instead of a DynaPack. Numbers peaked at 6250-6300rpm as power dropped after that. Only mod since last time is 4 inch intake. Read below for weather conditions which are temp wise the same as last time but humidity was slightly higher (65% vs 45% previously).

Air temp - 41 degrees
Humidity - 65%
Elevation - 80ft above sea level

Gains will only be better on 6 speed base model/5 speed auto Type S/6 speed manual Type S. It's been a year since I started this journey and now for the first time in my life I can honestly say I completed a big, long term project without giving up on myself. This is more than about cars. This is about me breaking long-standing mental barriers within myself and proving I have what it takes to be successful. I'm proud of what I've done and don't regret any of it. I truly do hope someone else will follow in my footsteps and strive to create detail oriented, ultra descriptive videos/pictures like I have so that we can help others succeed in their own car projects. In the end I have accomplished 5 major things with my car that I wanted to do from the beginning -

1.) First automatic 3rd gen all-motor Acura TL base auto on stock internals to break into the 13's

2.) Proved there IS gains to be had going from 3.25 inch intake to 4 inch intake.

3.) Proved there IS gains to be had going from 2.5 inch single into dual exit 2.25 inch straight piped cat-back exhaust up to 3 inch single exit cat-back exhaust for owners of J30/J32/J35/J37 motor equipped cars

4.) Showed that weight reduction DOES in fact make a difference if the reductions are substantial enough and that a superior power to weight ratio will ALWAYS win races and not who has the bigger motor etc etc.

5.) Showed that it's not about how many cylinders your motor has, it's about how good you can use what you're rolling with to its absolute best possible limit.

Current wear and tear -

19 dyno pulls
33 passes at the track
80 highway pulls
6 0-60's

Can someone please help me get sponsored? Bring on the 2017 racing season!
