How many motor mounts on the TL

I would like to know how many mounts my tl has. I keep looking on different sites and they all have different mounts an its kinda confusing. I am going to be buying 2 mounts from www.rockauto.com brand Anchor part #9458 and part # 9297 can anybody tell me what other mounts I need and where can I get them? Thanks in advance.

There is 3 engine mounts. I believe front, back, passenger side mount.
Look at excelerate performance ( a vendor here, googling it might be easier ) has some very nice mounts. Worth checking out.

There is a front (near radiator), rear (near firewall) and side (passenger side) engine mount.

We offer an upgraded mount set for the 04-08 TL.

And if you have a M/T TL we offer an upgraded Engine Torque Damper:

I installed mine last week and wow, both on the way the car feels and how worn my stock TQ dampener was. The car feels great, much better than before and I have the 75A XLR8 engine mounts. I highly recommend the ETD especially with stock mounts.

I was thinking about changing my ETD when I do my clutch. Wasn't sure how much difference it would make. Thanks HiSpeed for the info.

It is a huge change in how tight the car feels and shifts. My stock dampener could have been compressed with a pinky and didn't rebound at all. I think all the TQ of being FI has killed it. I was just waiting to get it for cheap from the BM. You don't realize how much the engine is moving even with beefed up engine mounts while shifting especially in the lower gears.

I am currently changing my mounts, on my front mount there is a rubber cover thing that goes over the whole mount, it kinda fits around it loosely, anyways it will not fit on my new mount. Anyone know what this thing might be and if it is necessary?

Sounds like a dust boot. I would leave it out.

I was accidently trying to install the rear mount on the front, hence the dust boot not fitting, anyways got the front and side done... I have no idea how I am going to do the rear, if anyone knows of some type of guide that would be helpful.

Do it yourself it's a easy DIY. The only thing I didnt like was being under the car even with the jack stands I worry about a earthquake. Also my jack only lifts the car high enough to get one click on the jackstand and that's about the thickness of my chest so it's a little tight. Once your down there it's three easy to get to bolts and some adjusting of the piece.

I'm glad you gave the ETD a good review. I had it on my list then removed it because some of the others said it didn't make much of a difference.

The 6 speed mounts are much stronger than the auto. Most failures are auto cars. My mounts were fine after at 70k with 30k of running the SC.

I would get the engine mounts over ETD as preference if you like to track the car.
If you like to DD and see little track days > ETD. The shifts, vibrations, and no wheel hop > Engine mounts.

I've got an acura tl a spec with 113,000 miles on it. Its a 6 spd. Should I upgrade the ETD and engine mounts (xlr8 62) or should I just wait for it to go out. I am about to add aem v2 cai with p2r tb and gaskets, atlp base exhaust and rv6 jpipe. I only drive my car on the weekends if that. Just need to know if the engine mounts and etd are needed. Tks JP

Just get the ETD, it will really firm up the car and show you how worn your stock ETD and mounts are.

If your engine mounts are worn you will want to upgrade those as well. Many 3rd gen TL owners have mounts that are worn and in need of replacement. That is why they upgrade to our XLR8 mounts.

You may order from Heeltoe but the parts are XLR8 parts so it will still ship from us in CT.
