You can do a one stop shop at www.heeltoeauto.com

Or you can piecemeal it to find the very best prices.

You maybe able to get a deal on and ECU from your local Acura dealer. I got my ECU from the dealer at a discount along with discounted labor to program the vin to the new ecu.

Junk yard would most likely be your best bet for a cheap ECU! (as justn mentioned)

It may take a little while to find the right one however since you need a donor ECU from a 07-08 TL Type-S M/T, or a 07 TL Base A/T.

We have everything you'll need on our site as well! I'll leave some links below:

- Hondata Adapter Harness: ADAPTERKIT-0405TLMT - HONDATA Adapter Kits - Excelerate Performance - European, Exotic and Japanese Performance Specialists!!
- Hondata FlashPro Unit: FP-TL-US - HONDATA Flashpro - Excelerate Performance - European, Exotic and Japanese Performance Specialists!!

Good luck and happy modding!

I bought a new 6MT TL-s Unit for $450 and the vin program was $50. If I had any problems initially I could have sorted it with the dealer at the time.

Been running it for about 4 years now no issues, it's my DD

For about $100, you can get a knockoff Honda HIM and program the immobilizer and VIN yourself.

I swap from the 08-6MT to stock to get my car inspected so I use it at least once a year. I didn't connect all of the sensors that were added and couldn't get readiness codes to set.

this maybe a silly question but is there any benifit between the 2 ecu's? 07 base vs 07-08 TLS 6 speed?

I would imagine just swapping the ECUs wouldn’t be a good idea. People only swap to the 07-08 type s so that they can use hondata on their TL, regardless of yearnor trim

there is no difference between the 2 ecu if you have a MT besides cost and if it an auto ecu you need to remove an IC and do a soldier bridge to retain cruise control. You don't have to do this on either MT ecu just the auto regardless or base or type S.. You can use AT or Mt ecu if the car is MT. AT car can only use AT ecu. If you need someone to program immobilizer and setup the hondata I can do it, and I do it remotely after sending you my laptop and programmer

So after reading up on all these Hondata Flashpro threads, Ive confirmed it is NOT worth it to buy unless my TL is extremely modded/boosted. Ill just stick to the basic bolts ons. CAI and Exhaust.

^it completely transformed the way my car drives...I was fully bolted, but once tuned, it feels like a completely different car. Great on gas, great for power, great for drivability, great for no-knock trouble free driving!

After reading all these threads on modding TL's I have confirmed that modding a car is not with it. lol.

Seriously Flashpro is an awesome mod, price of entry isn't cheap. I've been tuned for a long time now and I get great fuel economy, power and throttle response its the best mod I've done to my TL.

Here's an old video I made of the Flashpro APP on an iPhone 4S lol

^Wrong. "Flash pro" is NOT worth it if your car is basically stock. Thats what im trying to say basically. Nothing against it lol wish i could afford it on top of all other existing bolt ons, and it was easy to swap into an 04.

Even stock, Hondata will still be more beneficiary than most bolt-ons.

Even stock it's worth it. There's more value and potential to a custom tune when compared to bolt on pieces and no tune. I am an 04 as well and I am happy there's an option to tune, unlike the poor 04-06 Autos. There is probably 10 to 15 HP at peak HP and more at various RPMs to be had from a tune. The J Series ECU loves to pull ignition timing stock, ignition timing is where the power is at. Being able to tweak it exactly for what your engine wants, you will be able to realize the full potential for your combo stock or modified.

Just curious if it is better to dyno tune flashpro or just have someone tune it that knows what they're doing.

Agree with the other guys, it’s completely worth it even if stock. It makes the car so much more drivable, better response, no engine knocking, 10hp.

For those Looking to tune, search and hit up a guy named dom in here. I think he’s done close to 100 TL cars and is very well known. He’s on the cheaper end and he will retune if you add more mods. Super good guy and it’s all done over email.

I got one of the first flashpros for the tl and Ive been tuned for quite a few years now, I think 5.

@sockr1. Are you able to get all readiness codes to set with the replacement ECU? I don't remember which one fails but I have to go back to stock ECU/injectors in order to pass inspection annually.

And I agree, Dom is incredible with e-tuning.

I have a 06 MT and I am looking to swap a 07-08 ECU with immobilizer and key into that I can get for a good price. With that said would I just need these two things to make it work?

- Hondata Adapter Harness: ADAPTERKIT-0405TLMT - HONDATA Adapter Kits - Excelerate Performance - European, Exotic and Japanese Performance Specialists!!
- Hondata FlashPro Unit: FP-TL-US - HONDATA Flashpro - Excelerate Performance - European, Exotic and Japanese Performance Specialists!!

With the adapter will that pretty much make it plug and play? Will there be any splicing or moving of pins involved?

So for an 08 TL-S AT, do I need just the Hondata or Hondata and wiring harness as well?

Gonna try and source a used one.

Yes the 06 is direct bolt on for 07-08 ecu, "The 06 TL wiring harness is pin for pin compatible with the 07/08, which means you can simply plug in your donor ECU"
but flashpro work only for MT from 04-06 and both auto and MT for 07-08
