currently there are no reflashes that work and all of the ones on the market are junk. The top speed for a 6MT is 152-160, and on the autos is around 120-145. If you wantto add horepower order an AEM cold air intake and do the 02 sensor mod (instruction included)

There is no where near that much of a difference between the 6MT and 5A

Maybe not, but you have to remember, the AT red lines sooner because it has one less gear, so the MT will go faster, but at a point the wind drag will stop you from going faster..

The cars redline at the same point, it does not matter what gear you are in. You will never see redline in sixth gear on an MT or 5th on the AT anyway.

the 02 sensor mod it when the sensor is moved from the throtle body to the air intake so it reads colder air, dumping more fuel into the engine for a slight HP gain.

BTW, i gestimated less for the AT compared to the MT because it had one less gear. If i am worng, sry for the stupidy.

And here we thought you were just accounting for the differing gear ratio's between the two (which would have made more sense). However, getting back to the original question ... they are both limited @ 145, right? I am pretty certain that guys have gotten the AT up to 145and also pretty certain that the 6MT is also governed (as required by US law) to 145, right guys?

There is no speed governor on the TL, nor is one required by federal law. Governors are voluntary with the manufacturers.
Car & Driver has 152 MPH as top speed in its Road Test Digest; other magazines place top speed between 150 MPH and 158 MPH; there is no difference in top end between the MT and AT. I think the top speed was power- and drag- limited (as opposed to limited by RPM or governor).
There are other threads here on top speed, such as: https://acurazine.com/forums/car-talk-5/first-ticket-149524/
There is apparently no reflash, but why bother with trying to get TL to 160+ top end if there is no place to do it safely??? That's why Trans-Ams and 'Vettes exist...

The gear ratios are different that is why a six speed is faster than a five speed auto. And a manual is lighter.

Yes... faster in terms of acceleration.... because of the MT tranny shorter gear ratios...

Hmm, I guess having had my prior CLK55 ///AMG that did have (and need according to Benz) a limiter set to 155 was due to it's engine coming 350HP form the factory and it's ability to get well over the 155 mark (if removed). On the Benz forums there was a lot of talk about why the govenor was there in the first place. The conscenious was that it may have been related to the tire ratings that came on the particular cars. A 55-series had a 155 limit whereas a 500-series had a 135 limit. If the car came with tires rated to 130 (is that W?) then it's govenor would kick in @ 130. If it came with Z-rated tires, they could take it up to 155. Lots of guys paid lots of $'s to get it removed from their AMG's. I heard a lot of guys on this forum talking about hitting the govenor limits but maybe they were simply unfamiliar with a true govenor and "assumed" that since 145 was as fast as they could go that the Govenor had simply engaged. With my CLK55 it was not a "guess", it was VERY obvious pulling hard to 155 and then '''nothing...Alomst like hitting an invisible barrier (For those worried about me on this forum I have been around NASCAR since the earlier 70's so maybe this was @ Charlotte motor speedway and maybe it wasn't....Insurance issues you know...) Either way, nobody was in danger when I was running 155 (except "possibly" myself). So, no govenor's on this car you say?
