true, but it does have a harmonic dampener. a solid pulley doesnt have any sort of damping ability.
IMO, i dont think its worth it for the little gains . all that vibration running through the crank has to go some where and that place would be straight to the main bearings =/
dont be so quick to tell someone they can run a UR lightweight pulley with no issues. nobody really knows for sure.
the only way to answer that is to get 2 brand new engines, one with a UR pulley and the other with a stock unit, then crack them open after 100k miles to see how the bearings look. otherwise its still a myth...

ask Josh at Excelerate how many thousands of TL/CL engines are running the UR and have high miles with no problems
The acura engine does not use the front pulley as the balancer for the engine
get into SC and turbo and you add a new balance issue

Once again for all the doubters, lucky me being a sales rep I have had the pleasure of using TWO J32 powered vehicles for my job over eight years and a grand total of 267,000 "UR pulley installed" miles. Yes you read that right. Both have had UR pulleys for years and still run perfectly in every way and neither use ANY oil. They don't make noises. The 2000TL now has 257K miles on it and I put the UR on at 30K miles back in 2001. My CL-S has had a UR on for 40K miles. I would take either car on a cross country trip without any hesitation. They are NOT an issue.

yes, still have the stock unit in there. i do have the lighten flywheel though. i think that coupled with a stock diameter UR pulley would be too much.
im not doubting you one bit, but i still dont believe in them. different cars, different driving styles play a role too.
