Goodbye Performance Parts & Mods

I suppose I'm outta here for good now. It's been a pleasure talking with all of you in trying to find out a "perfect" setup for the exhaust on my 2008 TL Type-S. However, I traded it in a week ago for an MDX. After all the performance mods I did to the Type-S they are all useless now. I took them off and put the stock system back on.

For those of you familiar with my custom mid-pipe section you will know that it consisted of three resonators. That ended up going to the dealership as I had hacked the stock exhaust a little too much trying to do the Stage III conversion earlier on.

*****MOD EDIT*****

Have fun and keep it real. I need to jump start the MDX forum. There doesn't seem to be a whole lot going on over there compared to the 3rd gen TL forum.

UPDATE: I don't know if this post will need to be moved or not; I wasn't sure where to put it.

Ohhh trust me I have thought about it. If this thing doesn't sell screw it I'm putting it on the MDX. There is SO much more room to work around in the engine bay so taking off the original precat's shouldn't be too much of a problem. Plus, 3.7L...300HP stock...yeah, that's pretty sick.

Don't get me started down this road though or my wife will kill me!

It's a 2007 with Tech Package. I specifically wanted a 2007-2009 MDX with low miles because I like the grille/front end SO much better than the new ones. Oddly enough, I was chatting with the parts guy at my dealership and he said you can buy the 2010-2011 bumper and front grill and they are a direct bolt on. You can do the facelift yourself! Pretty crazy. In retrospect I should have bought a 2010 and then retrofit the 07-09 front end. That way you can get the Navi system that has a hard drive and much higher resolution display.

Either way, it doesn't matter. I'm very, very happy. I've turned into an old man. It costs about $80 to fill up the 19 gallon tank with premium fuel and I get about 400+ miles out of the tank for about 22-23MPG. That what I was getting with my Type-S. It's got tinted windows and 304L marine grade stainless steel side-steps. Flawless, certified pre-owned...I highly recommend the MDX. It's just flat out awesome. Definitely go for an 07+ model though.

I think the price range is around $20k-23k for an 07 MDX with the Tech package. I've done a lot of market research and those numbers are pretty spot on. An IT guy at my work just bought an 07 base model with 60k and he paid 23k. Mine has about 103k and I paid about 20k. I was a little worried with the mileage at first but this engine is known for serious longevity. In addition, I'm the second owner; the previous owner bought it from the dealership and had everything done there so there is a complete (and expensive) service history. They never once went to an independent shop. Blue Book prices are useless for the most part. The NADA circulation-restricted dealership guides are the only real guidelines to go by and then one most look around on the internet to get an idea of the going market value. They are nice vehicles though. I love mine.
