Fujita vs aem cai

im lookin into buying a CAI but not sure which one to buy. AEM seems to be the most popular but i have also noticed fujitas. which one would be the best one in terms of increased performance, sound i dont really care about too much? any other suggested brands that may be better than those two in terms of performacne are also appreciated

Does the same thing, except one is $25 - $40 cheaper. I assume the performance gains are VERY VERY similar.

Fujita ftw.

i went with fujita and I never looked back. The sticker that came with it looks hot on my wdp also. Gains are noticable as well and it sounds great, I've never experienced the aem to compare them though.

if only AEM would make a V2 for the TL application. then there would be no debate as to which one is the best.

I heard the fujita is an oil based filter, once the oil dries up the filter starts going bad.
is that true?

it's on their site: http://www.f5air.com/filter.html

Cleaning the air filter is simple and can be done using soapy, lukewarm water, and let air dry. The Super Flow High Performance Air Filter™ contains a synthetic fiber that does not contain any oil.
You should contact them to confirm.

from all the reading i have done. seens like AEM roars more ar idle rpm, while Fujita roar really loud once you step on the gas, look up video in you tube. thats how i made up my mind to go with Fujita.

I think one of the differences as well is the AEM has the carb exempt sticker for smog/emission purposes. so you don't have to take the CAI off the car when going to get it smogged. This is especially big in california. If i'm correct i think the AEM is the only intake that has this. I haven't heard of any others. So the difference in price i'm sure your paying for the carb exempt technology. Only thing i'm disturbed about with the AEM intake is that they don't have an AEM V2 CAI for the 04-08 TL. Mines is an 04 6MT

2. the quiet feeling when u have it on idle..
3. you can hear your engine when u really wanna hear it
4. it's cheaper than AEM and it does the job and it looks better overall wise when installed

You can install an air bypass valve which is supposed to help "drain" some of the water if yourfilter does suck some in. Best choice though is to avoid submarining your car.
