Flashpro help

Anyone run into a situation where you can't upload a calibration to the unit? I'm running the modded base map right now and have been trying to upload the first calibration Vit sent me and I get: "You cannot upload a TL US MT 2007 calibration to a TL US MT 2008 Flashpro". I opened the file with Flashpro Manager, so I don't know what the problem could be. Besides, the '07-08 Flashpro is the same part number.

Finally had some free time tonight to datalog, but I guess that isn't happening now. FML.

TIA guys....

I e-mailed Vit two minutes before making this thread and he already got back to me. He's re-making the map.

Ok, this Flashpro is about to be lofted across the yard and into the side of my neighbor's house.

I'm now getting blank datalogs. They show as a high number when I open them in FP Manager, but when I save them to my folder, they show as 1KB and are blank. I e-mailed Vit and he just responded that it's a "Flashpro bug".

I see Sockr and Dom ran into this. Did you guys find a resolution?

Hondata ? View topic - First datalog after cal upload is always blank

After the initial calibration that wouldn't load, the next four Vit sent worked ok and those four datalogs were fine. Now on this fifth cal, I've done a 20 minute log twice, with this same issue.

It's because you have 2 fp windows open. Close one

yea it's a bug within flashpro. there's no current fix for it so this is what i do, even as annoying it is.

- load the cal to the ecu
- in the ignition on position, i hit the datalog button right after i upload the cal
- i let that run for 10 sec or so and then end the datalog
- then i hit the datalog again and start the car for my log (or you can start it later)

and i feel your pain, i did some 30 min blank logs and was super pissed. add to that forum thread, the more posts it gets the more attention hondata will give it...hopefully

Thanks for the input guys.

I think I'm just gonna call the dealership Monday and make an appointment to reprogram my stock immobilizer. I don't have the time or the patience for this. I'm three weeks in and only have four successful calibrations. It's just one headache after another. And I can't even find anyone local to do a dyno tune.

Keep an eye on the B & S for a smoking deal on an FP and '08 Type-S 6MT ECU!

Yes create a short dummy short log first and use the second one and you will be trouble free

anx1300c don't get rid of you FlashPro!! Once you get futher along with your cals your going to be glad you didn't

I don't get why I haven't been having this issue..knock on wood. You should probably just bring your laptop with you to check and see if you you are infact logging.

Bummer it's been such a headache man.

Hi Dom! how's your tuning coming along?

Thanks guys. This worked. But then when I uploaded it to the site, I got a message they'd already received my log (the empty one) and not to send anymore. Just have to wait for them to clear it.

That's the weird thing. Pretty sure it is actually logging, since when I open the logs with the Flashpro plugged in to my laptop, it shows a high number. And even when I download it to my laptop it takes a bit of time, but then it shows as 1kb and there's nothing there. Initially, I thought it may be a problem with my laptop, but it's only a couple months old and then when I googled it and saw Dom and Sockr were having the same issue I didn't bother loading FP manager on my work laptop.

Anyway, Vit apparently cleared the queue, because I just uploaded the log and it accepted it, so now I'm waiting on map #6. Knock city on this calibration. Think I had like 12 knocks. AF was mid 13's @ WOT. Last one was just touching 13.00 and had no knocks.

Glad to hear your working around the issue and keeping the FlashPro what a strange bug. What ECU do you have, 07 or 08 Type S?

12 knocks isn't to terrible in N/A form. Knock counts used to get me worked up but now they don't bother me as much, I just prefer to not have any. When I bogged the engine starting in first I got 22 counts, the rpm's tanked and the load skyrocketed.

I've got the '08 6MT ecu. Calibration 4 had no knocks and felt stronger than cal 5 for sure.

Doesn't matter though. I keep switching back to the modded base map that comes on the FP in between datalogs. No way I could putt around for two months or whatever on these maps with vtec way up at 5500.
