Angry FART cans on a TL????

I've seen a TL around here with big fart (aka Coffee) cans instead of a nice exhaust. Been just wondering, why would anyone want to rice out the TL? I understand some Civic or even an Accord, but a TL...

'cause smoking tail lights keeps the car the same, but with smoothed lines (color)... especially if the car is Black

But buying a luxury car and pretend that it's a Civic.... i just don't know.

I never liked the fart-can look esp on the TL, but then again people hav different taste or wants, bigger exhaust= throaty/deep sound and/or bigger pipes more power and the car can breathe easier. I guess that's the price some people are willing to have fart cans for that. But everyone has their own views and opinions on this so I will leave it at that.

That person who put that exhaust on his/her car could well be asking, "why hasn't everyone done it??"

It's someone else's car. They can do whatever the heck they want with it, just like you've been doing what you want with yours.

Stop judging people.

Okay, someone educate me on the word "rice". I have seen posts on this forum talking about ricing their car or that their car is rice.

So what does rice mean? What modifications are considered rice?

Same people who put wings (especially unfinished wings) as big as a house on their cars (good for 25 HP, you know) or under-body irredescent lighting or flourescent-colored wiper blades or really strange flame or lighting paint schemes.

You get the picture.

Wish you had a picture to demonstrate this travesty. I agree that it is a ricey concept.

I was thinking of installing dingle balls throughout the upper perimeter of the interior like Cheech had in his '64 Chevy in the movie Up In Smoke. Perahps even adding the Love Machine decals as well.

I *did* do this. It was just 1996 and I did it to a 1988 Dodge Omni that had a stereo worth twice as much as the car. The "4x4" banner across the front window was the finishing touch.

The TL will get no such accoutrements.

I have seen a couple of other 3g TL with the large round tips and I must say that I don't care for them either. I realize they are probably part of a less restrictive exhaust system but I don't care for it.
I really like the way the OEM look integrates with the bumper cover.
But to each his own though.

There's another ricer page out there that has been more fastidiously maintained. Will find it and edit this post.

I have a FART can installed on my TL. Its wrapped in carbon fiber.

It's called the HKS Carbon Titanium Universal Exhaust muffler.

Unfortunately, it only appeals to a certain breed of people.

I agree with accuratein, I think it looks awesome to see a sport luxury trading some 'lux style' for some extra 'sport'. I guarantee that people dont see his car and go, how stupid. More likely, they think its bad ass, and wonder how fast it is.

Yeh, Accuratein TL is an exception in my book. I like his car. I could never do it to my TL so I give him points for that. Can't remember who did the magnaflow with stock tips but that's more up my alley. That looked super clean and the only exhuast mod if any I would do...but i dont think any. I just want more suspension and another inch on the rims for show:P

Which Magnaflow mufflers did you go with? How much did your exhaust mod total? Thuis spring is when I'll do mine, but I have to budget it in.

This is what I did

2.5 pipe from Cat to Y
2.25 pipe for Y to Mufflers

14' SS Magnaflow Resonator # 14416
http://www.hottexhaust.com/detail.asp?PRODUCT_ID=14416

2 SS Magnaflow Mufflers Center/off center # 14363
http://www.magnaflow.com/02product/...one=main&id=586

cost was around 550.00 installed. One more thing, you may want to add a magaflow Y..its only about 25.00, you would need to get the one that has a 2.5 inlet and 2.25 out.
