Exhaust drone

Good evening Acurazine,

I installed Tsudo Cat Back exhaust today on my 04 6MT and it sounds great when I step on it, the performance gains were very noticeable and the car pulls much harder in 3rd gear, but the drone is BAD ! very loud and annoying drone from 2-3K RPM.
I also have RV6 V3 and im sure that enhances it a bit, are there any ways to shut this damn drone ?
Thanks in advance guys ....

^^^ LOL...red text mah man....means sarcasm....

I would replace the resonator with a longer one....or look into "venturi" tubes....I have heard they do shut the drone up completely....

Would a bigger resonator reduce the gains from the exhaust ?
Also what resonator do you recommend ?

^^^ i understand....you want a second opinion....

even ABP suggested to add a resonator....drone is created by frequencies in the exhaust....thats why they come at certain rpm's....

i would leave it as is for now....after you do more mods your exhaust will be seeing a lot more pulses and quickly moving pulses (exhaust pulses)....maybe that might reduce the drone....

you could also try to heat wrap the exhaust components....

You won't be able to really get rid of the drone without adding something. I'd try another resonator like stated above, it might hurt the gains a tiny, tiny bit but thats the price you pay for drone free exhaust. Maybe try another muffler if you don't like the resonator idea.
