Right ... overseas just isn't China .. very good steels come out of the European community.

I have also engaged into conversations about these failing due to extreme heat at that point in the exhaust! I think it is a fair and valid concern to have plus a fair and valid question to have answered from the provider!

We recently started to make resonators. They are made here in the USA. Great Quality. Straight through design with perforated core.

This does not address the concern people are having about the extreme heat at this point in the exhaust effecting/burning up these units.

A resonator is not a catalytic converter. You can't burn up a resonator. It's a small muffler with a straight through design. A cat has a metallic or a ceramic core that can allow heat to build up. A straight through design would not prevent exhaust flow and therefore the heat build up wouldn't be an issue.

If i can be guaranteed that i will not have rasp with this edition, you can count me in! (after i see the dyno graph ) i assume this is made for a type s also?
Well. Let's think about this for a second. Most people that get the precat deletes get rasp. They have nothing but a straight flow pipe. Then after awhile they get tired of the rasp and add a second resonator to the exhaust. This usually calms or completely eliminates the rasp without sacrificing the power gains of the PCDs.

Now we take a look at these P2R resonated pipes. I am assuming the resonators are between 4"-6" long. Twice. One per pipe. Essentially it's like adding another 8"-12" resonator to the the system just like the guys with the PCDs do.

Don't quote me. But I'm willing to bet that there might not be any rasp. We will only know if P2R or XLR8 gives us a video or sound clip when they test it out.

I will totally buy these if we here some good sound clips with no rasp and see some impressive Dyno charts!! I would like to see this aproched the same way Richie did with the RV6 V3 pipe! That being they are installed on a bone stock TL with before and after Dyno numbers.

Then there must have been something wrong with the fueling in the vehicle. If the car is running too rich and dumping raw fuel into the exhaust system you can burn anything up b/c essentially there will be a fire in the exhaust system.

I'll inquire of P2R what they think but I'd be very surprised if someone melted a resonator on the TL.

Yeah I was running catless that's why the resonated walls warped...

P2R is working on it. The set they had they sent to the welder in order them to have a set to build the other sets off of.

yup^

Just get a high flow cat and put it somewhere else in your system. That'll probably make the smell a little better.

It will not smell any different than an older car like pre 1974 or any motorcycle out there except for the brand new ones which are now running Cats

Yeah the two main things that held me back from buying pcd was the Smell first and foremost, Secondly was the Rasp. I will not sacrifice a little power gain for a smelly ass Luxury sports car. IMO.

RV6 is working on some High Flow Pre Cats....Richie told me to look for them around July. I am not to concerned about the smell myself...it does not bother me...I am use to older cars and even kinda like it.

Totally understand you on why u wouldnt want the pre-cat deletes cause the smell is pretty bad and so is the rasp. but im gonna have to disagree on you with the"little power gain part" cause this is the most power gain you can get on this car without F.I.

Yeah that maybe true, but i also have a Type-S, in which i was told, that it has less cells in the cats than a base TL anyways. So technically i have high flow cats already. (I believe)

Richie makes great stuff but idk if i would be interested in HF PCDs. Yea i know they have their benefits but this is a true performance part for our cars. Most of us complain about the rasp but now there might be resonated PCDs, i wouldnt want cells in the cats holding my power back from the motor. This is a performance part, either go full flow or nothing at all IMO

Well for those of us who have to have cats to pass inspections, I think they would be a really cool idea to give us MOST of the performance with the benefit of being mostly legal.

I agree with both of the ^^ above! I live in MI and we dont "yet" have testing to pass so I am waiting on the resonated Pre Cats to see how they perform on the Dyno and to hear some sound clip! I am also waiting on the Cat Back exhaust system that RV6 is working on. I am really hoping it is resonated, has an ATLP sound to it and possibly even some type of replicated tip to the ATLP Base system.

^^ Good Question! I am hoping they do a ceramic or something to keep the heat in the units! If not and if I buy a set I will be looking at doing a ceramic coating of some sorts locally to keep underhood temps down!!

Area where those parts bolt on looks like it will get the most heat.

P2R has to make all the flanges and two new entire units in order to dyno test. The machine shop has all the initial parts. He's working on the new units but it is taking some time.
