Excelerate Performance: Groupbuy for P2R Resonated Pre-Cat Deletes

Excelerate Performance is proud to announce the release of P2R Pre-Cat Deletes for the 04-08 TL (All Platforms).

P2R Pre-Cat Deletes are made right here in the USA using T-304 Stainless Steel from the USA, which is superior to much of the cheaper and thinner overseas steel. P2R Pre-Cat Deletes are manufactured with straight-through design resonators to help keep exhaust drone down while still giving you the power benefit of a straight pipe. This product is for off-road use only and removal of any catalytic converter is illegal.

P2R resonated pre-cat deletes are estimated to be shipping the first to second week of June.

Pre-Cat Deletes Include:

Pre-Cat Deletes

Two Oxygen Sensor Angled Spacers (Defoulers)

Bolts & Gaskets

The Groupbuy Price will be $399 shipped to the cont 48 US. After the Groupbuy they will likely be $450+.

Let's get a list going. Once we get a new names I'll make a link to the website to have people start pre-ordering.

1.
2.
3.

etc etc

Wow. This came as a big surprise.

I didn't see this coming. My mouth was hanging open when I seen this thread.

Thank you Josh for this pleasant surprise . And thank you for providing the 3G TL community with many performance options.

As the 3G TL is becoming older, I see more owners willing to make aggressive mods to their 3G TL. The 3G TL is definitely a growing market within the modding industry.

Perhaps someday, we will see more people stripping-down the TL with a "TL Diet".

^^ I wouldn't consider it a low blow to Richie, but pretty close. The T-304 SS should definitely be mentioned but the latter could've been left out...

Anyway, great news! Just like Innacurate said, I was pleasantly surprised to see this thread. This should keep rasp to an absolute minimum or even completely eliminate it!!

What's the diameter of the piping? Any dyno's done? Sound clips?

The market for J series has begun to explode! (In a sense).

Damn the 5 min editing. Can we talk to the mods about this? It's so annoying.

Josh, what's the time span of this group buy? That seems like a good price...

I can't quite tell from the picture, but are these polished? Resonated is a good idea. Does that help with the rasp or is it just for drone?

Have you had a chance to test a set out yet?

^They almost look coated with something judging by the pic...

Nice idea to make them resonated. That should help reduce rasp and drone before it even had a chance to start.

I am pretty certain that is not a pic. It is a software rendering. In other words, a computer generated rendering from a CAD drawing.

It does look rendered. I don't see a weld bead. Anyways, I ask because I see reflections.

Most CAD rendering software is able to add realistic reflections and shadows.

Thanks for the reply aznchino16.

I was aware of the P2R label. However, I really doubt that P2R is actually in any position to do the actual manufacturing. Whereas, Billy Boat is an exhaust manufacturer. Thus my question.

They have there own machine shop, thus it's manufactured by them. How do I know? I am local to them.

Hey guys,

The picture above is a 3d rendering of what the final product will look like. That is why you do not see any welds on it. They are going to be polished stainless. Of course the final product wont look exactly like the 3d rendering, but its just to give you guys an idea of where the resonators are going to sit. These Pre cat delets are going to be a good bit quieter than any other pre cat deletes that are out on the market without sacrificing any hp loss.

We are making this product together with another shop. We are manufacturing all the flanges, bungs, etc and the other shop will be doing all the welding as we don't do any welding here. Sure you guys will enjoy this product.

Whats with companies releasing performance mods without dyno graphs or an actual fabricated product?

Resonated is a good idea though.

Curious about quality though. P2R should be legit. Good thing you didn't go with Billy Boat.

I like how Josh and you both make it sound like there are many providers of PCDs "out there".

Well, there are a couple but not fully advertised. Moore's Performance Parts has some PC Deletes as well as RV6 and now P2R. I may try the P2R ones being that they are resonated and will surely get rid of the rasp on droning.

Some dynos would be great though, Sean. I know you guys do great work over there and I bought my ported IM from you and there were definite gains. I may be purchasing the ported lower runners from you soon, as well as these PCDs.

I'm not going to commit yet though because I need to start saving to move out of my house. I may not make the GB but these are definitely on my list.

These are not XLR8 PCD's; these are P2R PCD's but they are being sold exclusively through Excelerate Performance.

Correct.

In terms of the comments about the material used: It was referenced to educate consumers on the difference between cheaper steel and better steel. People need to know why there is a price difference. A higher quality material results in a higher price and people will want justification for a higher price. It's not an attack on anyone, just information.

I don't think you would get the CEL. It comes with defoulers.

I wonder what my magnaflow setup would sound like with these.

You will be purchasing the PCD's from us. Once we get a list going I'll add them to my website.

No, the defoulers/spacers will eliminated the code.

It has been said several times already but is there any estimate of HP and Torque increase for these?? Dyno?? If they had been or have been tested I would be much faster to place my order!!

I think the question that needs to be asked is if Josh plans on doing a dyno once he gets a set in. It was my understanding that he doesn't even have his hands on a pair to test. Otherwise I'm sure we'd have better pics of the product.

So, Josh, do you have plans to perform a dyno once you get a pair of these in your hands? Inquiring minds want to know.

using T-304 Stainless Steel from the USA, which is superior to much of the cheaper and thinner overseas steel. <<<---- I don't get this ... it he saying the overseas steel is thinner? T-304 is T-304 nothing to do with the thickness ( gauge ) of the steel.

Actually you can tell the difference between 90% of the steel that comes out of china as to the steel when stuff is made here in the USA.

Dyno graphs will be coming soon. We only have 1 finished set of the PCD's, and these are being used to make the jig. So the dyno will be done with a finished version of the product. Not with the original piece.

So im wondering with my current exhaust setup, (which is, ATLP Jpipe & RV6 Resonated 3rd cat delete, & XLR8 non resonated catback) will i get rasp with adding this p2r pre cat delete? I do not currently have rasp at all (just drone, Which is fine by me) i have never purchased the previous precats because of the chance of drone.

If i can be guaranteed that i will not have rasp with this edition, you can count me in! (after i see the dyno graph ) i assume this is made for a type s also?

what brand of resonators is being used... Megan resonated 3rd cats FAIL because of heat... these are closer to the motor... curious on the guarantee of life... great product really... but I think havig a pair of cats instead of resonators would've been a much better idea... personally
