dyno with supercharger... something wrong?

So, dynoed the supercharger today on the same dyno with the same technician.

not very good results.

Three runs in this order.

281.1 WHP and 225.0 TRQ
273.8 WHP and 219.4 TRQ
283.4 WHP and 229.1 TRQ

this was my run before the supercharger.

246.2 WHP and 211.2 TRQ

I couldn't get the A/F reading because for some reason it wasn't getting numbers from my car.. it worked on my buddies Si and it worked previously on my car before the supercharger. he changed the filter and everything...

bklynpanman - what type of problem did you have that robbed the power?

.. i wasn't getting fuel.. fuel pressure regulator was bad.. when i had the problem my max torque was 240.. but max hp was 215.4 when got a new fuel pressure regulator it went to 254 torque and 309 hp SAE this was pre- pro cats.. look at comptech's website and their dyno for the automatic.. your #'s are right on point

you need the A/F in order to get a better idea.. you might be getting too much fuel.. when whoever did your install modified the fuel regulator, they may have crushed it too much causing an increase in pressure... but highly doubt it since your #'s aren't bad. as you know, it's the torque that you "feel".. which is the reason why you don't feel it being faster.. i went from an intake and exhaust only to the S/C probably felt a 50 lb increase in torque..

well the procats on the S/C didn't really do anything for me.. 7lbs of torque and 11 hp.. not worth 1050 not matter how you look at it.. but i forgot you had the procats.. you need to get the A/F checked .. also, check your connections on the ACM.. this is everything i did, when i was in panic mode

OH shit!

so, I did that custom AEM intake mod thing to the blower and... wow, i don't know what to say. my car is a different animal. Low end improved immensely, mid range feels solid and top end just SCREAMS with noise and power! now, my car feels like a different car.

(again.. i only took it for a short drive, will update again tomorrow, but these are first impressions)

The lost horsepower, yea.. i think i know what happened to it! lol...

For the supercharged guys:
was your Comptech Filter SOAKED in oil? i mean SOAKED! when i took out that stupid blue filter there was even oil in the icebox intake piping. I took the throttle body off and cleaned it up as well. maybe this is why i had problems? Did Acura of Lynnwood over oil my filter?

Probably, the can of oil they give can oil the filter twice, they probably used the whole can which is way too much.

Awesome!

Yeah i'm not too fond of that foam filter whether its oiled or not.

It's loud right?

Glad to see you're happy about the supercharger now.

numbers arent terrible, so i dont think theres anything major wrong. but when i got my icebox from CT, i did the recommended oiling and after a few weeks i noticed oil sitting in the box and the pipes and the filter was disgusting. i replaced it with a k&n and never looked back.

Good to hear you got your low end back after losing the pulley for the SC. Any whiplash yet?

I just got my supercharger installed with dyno HP = 288. You mentioned you did the AEM mondification that helped alot... so you just replaced the intake and cut the pipe to make it fit and you were good to go?

Yea I did the AEM intake mod, this is what I finally ended up doing. Cut the AEM intake or get a short ram intake. Cut it so that it is long, no bends in it. Keep the end with the breather hose attachment on it. Go to pepboys and get a 90* bend and a 60* bend. Connect the two and the straight AEM pipe should fit right in it. Try to keep the filter as high up as possible, and you will need a longer breather hose. Go to any parts store and you will find it. Its alot easier to do than it sounds
