Has anyone come across an aftermarket manual such as a Hanes or Chilton for the 3rd Gen TL's? There are some things that don't require a shop to do that I would like to take care of myself.

 

Go to www.helminc.com and order the service manual for the TL.

 

Cant go wrong with that

 

Or I can always post pics from the service manual. Sorry, private joke but these guys know what I mean.

I think Chilton's or Hanes gives you more DIY info than the service manual, and explains it so the average DIY guy can do it. There will probably not be one published because of lack of demand, but who knows, it could happen.

Since we are on the topic...can someone provide an example of what kind of information Chilton/Hanes would offer?

 

Chiltons/Helms manuals are the complete 'do it yourself' handbooks. Each book is make/model specific. They have very intricate exploded diagrams and thorough explanations of (pretty much) the complete assembly or dissassembly of our vehicles. Pretty handy.

I just thought that since Ron A mentioned that there would be more DIY info in a typical Chiltons/Hanes...I was just curious at an example.

I think he meant "Haynes" instead of Helms.

Here's a list of the Haynes and Chilton Manuals available for Acuras. As you can see, they are extremely limited.
