Im actually thinking of getting the S/C myself and with my past experiance with S/C you wont feel the benefits unless the engine is already wound up like on the highway because the S/C builds boosts as the engine builds revs, thats why alot of guys arent getting results that they expected in the 1/4 mile...the heat in houston could be a problem but i think againstallodds solved that problem with the install oft he Water/methanol injection kit. Aside from that heat problem i dont really see any other cons but just pros at that point...maybe someone else can chime in incase i missed something.

the s/c gets to full boost right away.. as rpms build it holds at max boost.. when you hit vtec at 4k.. it pushes

On mine I dont feel like I am really moving until it hits 4000rpms. That is when I feel the blower the most. When my car was NA I remember around 6000 rpms it would die off, now it makes the most power at around 6500 rpms. It screams, If you bring those rpms that high you will get a lot of attention on the street.

OK..so u build boost at around 4000..but u hit peak at 6500?...how many times doen the 1/4 are u at peak boost? 2 maybe? and the 6mt is geared shorter rite? so that would hit closer to peak boost more than a 5at would rite?

Not really, I thought so too at first. When I am going through the traps I am at 6500rpm in 3rd gear. Redline on a 6mt in 3rd gear is at 90mph, if I am wrong correct me please, I read this in a past post. So we are both hitting peak the same amount of times. Now on a 5at our rpms stay up there a little longer.

you are exactly right about 3rd gear redline at 90 mph.. and 4k - on, definitely pulls hard.. where it's most noticeable.

Got you...thanks

but with superchargers in general the time differance isnt much..ill give an example there were these 2 civics that my friends had owned...both were hatchs with b18c1 motors, 1 s/c and 1 Turbocharged, both made about 290 whp......both driven on the same day and by the same driver and the T/C ran 12.6 and the S/C ran 13.4...same driver and same day...i knew the guys and knew both cars...Even if u look at the mags its the same response...the S/C times arent much differant but my question is why?....Example my civic hits full boost at 3500 and makes 550 whp at 8500 RPM...with power at 3500 if i remember correctly was some where around 300...From my experiance T/C cars build boost alot faster than S/C does because the S/C is belt driven...can this attribute to the times we are seeing?...I know its not far to compare and civic to a tl but im jus wanna show how times are differant...

I guess wha im trying to say is that the S/C wouldnt really shine unless its from a roll or on the highway...againstallodds, ur tl must be a beast on the highway rite?

from a roll.. due to traction problems.. someone chime in here.. i would think turbos take longer to build boost due to the fact the turbine is exhaust driven.. our s/c's are belt driven.. instant boost at all rpms...

from a roll it depends on wha RPM im at during the roll in my civic....the closer i am to 3500 the harder i will pull....at 3500 in 1st gear thats where i usually start my rolling starts..but i have to feather the throttle or else i will just burn out in the same spot
