Well considering the 2nd Generation CL/TL supercharger package makes more power than the 3rd Generation TL kit will, and that no 2nd Generation CL/TL's with the supercharger package installed have had any abnormal transmission wear, (transmissions in 2nd and 3rd Gen are nearly identical internally) I think your is

confirmed
about two weeks ago i called comptech inquiring about the short shifter. i also asked about several other 04-tl parts that are out or coming out. i was told that the supercharger would be out by end of april to may 15th. he was certain of this. i also asked about reliability. he told me it would last and not shorten the engines life, but then what was he supposed to say. he did point out there other superchargers for the nsx or cl. no problems there he said. can any say he lying? has anyone had engine problems with their ct supercharger? a cai is coming aswell. he would only say soon and he wasn't sure if it would be the same as the one for the supercharger.

It appears Comptech has found a way to overide the obd2.
The ACM or advanced control module will lower VTEC, plus more.
The S/C release in May seems like a reality to me.

Here's a reply to the original post of this thread.
1. Where's the a-hole from Comptech who used to post on this site? There is no S/C being released on May 1st. Like a Sunday is a good day to release a product!
2. When will everyone start to realize that Comptech is nothing but a middleman when it comes to parts. They don't bend their own swaybars, they don't weld up their own mufflers, and they don't hot roll their own springs, it all comes from other manufacturers!
3. The only thing priced well by Comptech is the swaybar and springs, the rest of their crud is way overpriced, well actually, probably overpriced because they spent way too much resources trying to figure it out.
4. Comptech was better off just contracting with the very smart folks over at Alpine to make the S/C kit.

Where's the a-hole from Comptech who used to post here? They need to stop making false statements about the S/C that they've been working on since early 2004.

mod edit-disregard previous poster. post has been deleted and poster banned again.
Now you seem more than a little pissed off about this. Why? Have you put money down into the R&D or paid for a SC that you haven't seen yet?
Most of the people whining about the delays have not sacrificed anything here. Now if you put the $ down, and have not gotten a response, just delayed deadlines I can see your point.
It will be May 1st on Sunday, and if it is not released then...boohoo. Life does not change "drastically" for any of us.

I agree it's no big deal but Comptech is famous for saying shit will be ready and then taking months past that date to deliver. They need to learn to just shut the fuck up about release dates and say it will be out when it's ready. Setting a date and not delivering just pisses people off.

Now that the ACM has been developed I see no reason why the TL kit can't be ready for production in May. Their traditional ECM module wasn't working as well as it had on previous kits.

Oh and i've been told you guys might be getting new injectors instead of/in conjunction with a FPR.
The connector on these is so close to the Honda injector connector that Comptech can machine the injector's connector so that they will plug right in with the factory connector. These are also being used in Comptech's "Stage 2" kit for the RSX, although they haven't been released for sale, just in their street testing.

so is the first batch of S/C only developed for the MT? or will the AT S/C be out at the same time?
I know they they used two different TL's for building the S/C. One MT and the second AT...
I also was reading on the TSK forum that Comptech is building or already built a S/C for the MT, but don't really have plans to build one for the AT.

Greetings:
I was at Comptech 3/9/05 to have Sport Springs installed. At that time they had just returned a 04 MT TL back to stock so it could be traded-in on a 05 AT TL. The purpose of this trade-in was so they could develop the SC for the AT TL.
I called Comptech earlier this week and they told me they got the new AT TL and they were almost done with the CPU setting (air/gas mix and so on) for the MT version. As of that call they had not installed a SC into the AT TL.
There is no way to determine the exact date that Comptech will have the SC on the market for either the MT or AT version of the Gen 3 TL.
Bottom line is, when it is ready I and many others will have one.
Stay tuned.
Tim

Chalk it up to Comptech to promote their product release well before it'll actually come out.

Well if the supercharger isn't for sale on the market this week or the next...ill speak to a sales rep at the comptech booth at IAS May 22.
They better be there.

Let me reply to the original poster's title of this thread.
NO IT WON'T
Did anyone check the Comptech website? I just did and guess what, it's not available. Maybe they are working hard on this Sunday to squeeze in those last minute fixes so they can have it for sale later tonight.
Personally, I would let the daring few blow their cash to see what the S/C breaks on their car. Then maybe i'll think about buying the 3rd or 4th rev of the S/C.

Par for the course for Comptech.
Hey i'd much rather them do it right the first time than rush it out and need to fix things.
And if it were that easy to develop a supercharger for the TL and develop a way to trick the ECU without reprogramming it... Comptech wouldn't be the only ones doing it

Yes absolutely.
Oh just an FYI the 2G TL/CL kit could be purchased for $3,500-$3,800 plus another $600-750 for install. So your estimates for $5,000 is about correct if you include the install cost.

I had it on for 15,000 miles. Problems I had:
1) First belt slipped - My error, wrong belt installed
2) Belt tensioner broke - My error, belt installed too tight
In addition my fuel pressure gauge failed but I thought it was a fuel pressure regulator issue, so I increased fuel pressure when actually it was the gauge reading incorrectly. This caused drivability problems and fouled spark plugs.
So basically all the problems I had were my fault and not design flaws.
