comptech supercharger problem

Hi. I had a comptech supercharger installed in my 2006 acura tl auto. The shop I got installed have done several kits of comptech two of the tl on the accord etc. Problem is my AFR is to lean. I put it on the dyno with the wideband AFR and it was to lean to get a base line. I was in the 17s... Hondata came to do a reflash for me, and he changed out the acm same thing. Removed the acm and program a custom hondata tune with the stock ecu nothing still lean. So he hooked up back the acm did a reflash to adjust timing, vtec, surging etc so I dont blow my motor. He took a look at the fuel trim and its having to add 10-15% which is not good he said. He said for the shop to check on the crushed fpr. They will do this in the next 24 hours. The tool they used on my car is the new tool, and I was the first car who used this new tool. All the other several cars with comptech supercharger had the old tool. They said the new tool just crushes it on the other end no big deal.
any advice? Hondata said to check the stock plug since the 05 and 06 are different. The A and E?

thanks,
Michael

You are not getting enough fuel. If adjusting the ECU doesn't help, then it must either be the fuel pump, FPR, or bad fuel injectors.

17s is super lean, don't blow up your motor.

I was either thinking fpr, I bought a new one and have the old style tool which my shop used several times and it worked 100% so if needed I will use this. Or the a and e plug along with the acm wiring since 05 and 06 are different?
hmmmm

Sorry to hear you are having problems with the S/C install. From many of the previous threads I have read, it does sound like the FPR. As bklynpanman had the same problem, he went on for ever trying to figure it out!!! j/k

But please, try to structure your sentences a little bit better the next time you post. I had a hard time reading through the post.

Just going to wait for the shop to open and they will figure it out. Just wanted some ideas of what to check out.

** The custom comptech setup I got sounds stock. Just the way I like it..hehe

I don't have a charger, but the FPR was the first thing that came to mind since depending on who crushed it and what tool they used to measure it seems to be the part that would have the most variable/difference in tolerance.

Does anybody have pictures of said tools so you know if you got an old one or a new one in your kit? Mine looks like a hand sized round peice of alum that has been milled and you put the FPR into it - put the cap on and crush it in a vise or something. It appears that you CANT overcrush it this way. I will snap a pic later tonight of it. I wonder if you can get pics of both tools on here so people can compare.

I have the new tool. My friend who has the 04-06 tl comptech supercharger has the old tool. If we need to crush the fpr again we shall use the old tool this time.
thanks

Have you thrown a fuel pressure gauge on your system to see what actual fuel pressure you're running?

"Have you thrown a fuel pressure gauge on your system to see what actual fuel pressure you're running?"

I was just about to ask about this. My buds shop was wondering what the stock fuel pressure is on a 04-06 acura tl auto if it matters?.. Also what is the fuel pressure after the comptech supercharger?
He believes its like 50-60 at idle?
If anyone knows please let me know. They had to move shops and we did not have time tonight to check it out since we put the racks up. We shall check it tomorrow.
I also bought the Zeitronix wideband which shall help.
thanks all for your help.

On mine, it is around 50~60psi stock. With the crushed FPR it's up to around 80psi.

ok talk to hondata and the ecu a and e plug for 05-06 are ok.
Also hondata said, the fuel pressure at idle and in boost should be the same. He does not know the fuel pressure when I asked. But he said, the 04-06 fuel pressure is the exact same. So if anyone has a service book if you can check for me.
thanks

An ACURA service book to give you OEM readings or a Comptech service book to tell you what they should be crushed?

update

Its about 1150pm friday we got it fixed. It was the FPR. I bought a fuel pressure gauge and when the new tool the fuel was at 60psi. So we put the stock FPR and it was 62psi. Then we crused the FPR with the old tool and my fuel pressure went up to 72psi.
We did not install the wideband since its so late and we shall put it in next week.
I did 3 runs, one wide open and it was super fast. Unreal... hehe...
Two runs at the area which surging occurs. And the surging is gone.
Only problem is my check engine light came on along with the vsa etc. Code is
P2227 Baro sensor range performance problem.
As I understand it. This deals with the reflash by hondata and I will have hondata fix it this week.
thanks everyone for your input.

glad to see you got everything working!!!!

I was just reading your meet thread and found out you got your supercharged installed at C&C. I was tallking to the supercharged accord guys that C&C are going to make polyurethrane engine mount for the 6th and 7th gen Accord and 3G TL. Do you have any more info about that?

As for the meet, I will still be in Califnornia on the 4th so I might drop by!

very nice! Dave (bklynpanman) nailed it there. I was going to say its the FPR but like many have said here, it was. Glad you got it to work and enjoy the ride. Spring is coming that means weather will get nicer each day and you'd be able to test out that beast. But I always prefer winter over summer for car speed. When it's 20 degrees out, S/C'd TLs are a beast vs 90 degrees weather

If you are in California stop by the meet/bbq... c&c will talk more about the poly mounts for our cars at the meet. If you got any questions they will answer it.

I picked up a manual one that I need to install. I've got a Marshall Performance 1 1/2 inch liquid filled unit 1-100psi. It was a cheaper alternative to an in-cabin gauge and gives the ability to check base pressures. Manual is accurate. I've heard of problems with the autometer electric gauge.

On the back of the intake manifold there is a line before the solenoid. Ryan helped me out with finding that one
