Competition Clutch
I just wanted to let you guys know that you shouldn't lose faith just yet. I know that Competition Clutch hasn't produced the setup yet but they are still are doing this project. I spoke to Chris Harrell at a show the other day and he said that they are still producing this clutch and flywheel package. They said they have 2 projects ahead of it and then it is onto this clutch. So it may take a couple months but just talking general pricing we were talking only about $800 for both pieces. That is still early but still good news.
Hey guys, I don't want to impede on the thread, but can you guys please just go on this thread and just add your names to the petition even if you guys already have exhausts, whether comptech or not, whether you want an exhaust or not, i need names (bodies) to sign up on the petition so we can get GReddy to manufacture us a catback...Thank you for your cooperation. you know you can adjust the clutch to engage faster.

you do loose a little driveabiltty using an alum flywheel though, so there are a few drawbacks. its also harder on your syncros too. if competion clutch doesnt come through for you guys, you can always get a stage 3 clutch from clutchmasters like mine. it has a segmented kevlar disc and HD PP. the thing grabs insane with a little stiffer clutch pedal, but i like that.
how can it be adjusted? i'm dying to get a more comfortable daily drivng clutch. the grab point is so tiny on my car, i would love to have my clutch like the 350z or any other car where you can take off by just easing off the clutch!

I have been in contact with Comp Clutch but they are still dragging their feet on this project. They are going to do it but it may not be for a few more months. Other projects are taking precedence.

its underneath the dash where the pedal links to the clutch cylinder. you have to take off the bottom panel, and you will see it. loosen the nut and spin it up or down, if you want it to grab right off the ground tighten it or loosen if you want it to grab higher.
^wait so you are saying that i can adjust the way the clutch engages? i'm fine with the pedal height -in fact it's perfect.. i'm just looking for an increase in the grab point, and possibly have it so i barely have to gas to take off... hopefully you understand what i mean

hmmm if it truely is a risk if adjusted, then why would acura add this feature... were there any recalls related to this??
btw jdmspec333, what kind of cars gave you problems when adjusting the clutch?
Excelerate, what are your opinions on this matter?

yep, D and E is the ticket. that will let you adjust the engaging point.

not at all, they put it there for a reason. ive been doing it to mine with no problems so far, 51000 miles and still going strong. if all you want to do is make it engage a little further from the floor, then a few turns on the threads should do it.

I think the clutch grab and sensitivity is just the nature of our cars. At 34k, I'm pretty much used to it.
I adjusted my clutch this morning, it was a day and night difference! It grabs much better, i also barely feel that bungie-cord shifting feel anymore; which is good. I barely have to gas it to go. For those who hate the way their clutch feels, this is a must do! All you need is a 12mm wrench and 15min.
Don't worry, i didn't tighten it to the floor, it grabs just above the middle...
I am still interested in this package, but for now my stock clutch is cool while i wait.

glad to see it worked for you.
the clutch adjustment was strictly meant to adjust the pedal free play after replacing the clutch or master cylinder. not to adjust clutch engagement. but if you're happy with the outcome, then that's your prerogative. happy shifting!
I talked to a local shop to get a quote on labor for replacing the clutch. I mention that I want to have an aftermarket clutch install once I made my decision on a setup. He mention Competiton clutch would be the way to go if they make them for the TL's. So of course I found this thread.
Josh - what's the story? I need to make a decision soon.

Took a peek at their site. These things look impressive; ceramic disk with steel flywheels! And the prices are great! They need to do something for us!
