Catless with mufflers

Hey I got a 2005 Acura TL with the stock exhaust. I was wondering if the car would sound raspy if I deleted all 3 catalytic converters and left all the stock mufflers and resonator on. Also would I gain any power

Would it do any damage to my engine running it without cats?

It won't damage anything but if you just gut the primary cats you'll have a check engine light plus you won't pass any emissions testing your state may have. You'll also have to add an additional resonator to cut down on the rasp.

A better idea would be to start with a long tube J-pipe which deletes the 3rd (non-monitored) cat. Unless your state does a visual inspection, you won't have any check engine lights. And there is almost no change in sound level so no rasp.

I run 3 Cat-Deletes with stock Type-S Jpipe-back exhaust on my 2008 TL-B5.

It sounds quiet. Almost the same as stock.

You will forget the cats are missing.

This is close enough to what you're asking. It sounds ok at best. It never gets better than this sound. If you accelerate past 3k rpms, it sounds like a distressed cow crossed with and angry beehive.
