Mine finally came in and I had the same problem with the spoiler lifting up from one side. I applied heat in the middle with a heat gun, both on the top and bottom side, in one foot area and then put the spoiler on a stack of books and pushed and held the corners down for a couple of minutes, it fits perfect now

It's unpainted. You prob have to pay more to get him to ship it too. Remember 330 is with 12% tax cause I'm local.
So, if I can find someone on the list you guys can ship it to an American address, and I can drive over the border and pick it up? I juss don't feel like overpaying for an item that I everyone else is paying less for... 215 usd = 260 Cad. Since I can only buy from Rev, it's $330..... sucks

What are you guys using to install the spoiler? I am undecided, I do have the 3M double sided tape with me but I want something rock solid. Who else has looked into 3M window weld?
#366
I asked Mike how much it would be shipped to Toronto and he said $280. Now, I'm not sure if that means $215 for the spoiler plus $65 shipping or if it's $280 shipping alone...I can't imagine that being the case but you never know with these courier companies. Either way $280 converted into CAD is about $350 then you have to include duties/taxes.
Jnc, use industrial strength double-sided tape. I'm going to include that in the kits, it's just that they are back-ordered at the moment.

To clarify (emailed you as well) it's $280 shipped for the unpainted, and $380 shipped for the painted version to Canada, if your on the pre-buy. And to other person, it's honestly not a bad price your getting. You still have to remember that there is customs fee's $30-$40 that you have to pay if you do it through Fedex.

What's going on with the fitment on these? I got an email from Mike about it but wasn't sure if something was being done about it. Sounds like most people are working the spoiler themselves to get the fit right. Just waiting to hear back from Mike, who I know is swamped as usual, about it but figured I'd see what you guys are doing.

I MUST agree with this statement. For anyone leery about purchasing online, there is absolutely nothing to worry about if purchasing from Mike at ATLP. I speak from my own experience.
On another note, my spoiler finally came in on Friday (#!@#$%^ Mike!)... It will be painted and installed in about a week.

Fitment will be adjusted on our end. Some who got it already have used a heat gun or a blow dryer and it works perfectly. There still may be a slight variance (handmade product) but the tape we are supplying will take care of that. It's some bad-ass industrial strength stuff.

I agree...Mike's customer service is A++. I was the first to post a fitment problem here, and he immediately notified me to say he would rectify it. I propped it up with weights on either side and waited until Mike could get back to me. The 2" gap became 1/8" and it's getting painted now. So, it can be adjusted. Thanks Mike.

Yes use window weld. Last night I used some loctite double sided tape, its suppose to be able to hold 100 lbs per roll, and taped my jdm roof spoiler on. Let it cure overnight, and then this morning, drove on the interstate and suddenly heard it loud sound. Looked outside my mirrors and saw that thing just flew off.
I drove for another 5 minutes till i saw an exit, drove around and up and down the interstate several times to look for it, didn't see it. $200 went down the drain in just 12 hours.
Now I have a reason to get the ATLP one now.

sorry to hear that TSXinity! did you prep the surface? cleaned both surfaces with some rubbing alcohol? before you installed it?
i'm telling you guys i think i was the first one to use 3M window weld on a tl window spoiler. and this stuff is super strong! there's no way my spoiler is coming off or loose, and i have the bigger Sarona roof spoiler! the tape is strong, but i wanted something better. i mean they use this stuff to attach windshields to the bodies/frames of automobiles! im sure it could handle a little spoiler.

Any suggestions as to how much of this stuff should I use?
Here is a rough sketch of how the underside looks right now, black part is what actually will be touching the rear window, feel free to render on the first image with suggestions as to where to apply the 3M adhesive
Here is what I am thinking, the gray line indicates 3M double sided tape for two reasons, excessive weld stuff wont ooze towards the underside of the spoiler as this spoiler (unlike the sarona) has a raise towards the underside hence both sides have to be painted. Also, it will support the spoiler for the first week or so till the weld cures properly. The thick blue line is where I plan on applying the weld.

Yes I did all that. But in the morning I notice the middle part was lifting up since it dont quite sit flat on the window. My instincts told me to just take it off cuz it mite fly off but I didn't trust my instincts because when I tried to use a lil force to lift it up, it wouln't budge. Also I was running late for my advising for summer classes so I didn't have time to take it off.
I guess the wind went over and under the middle part of the spoiler and just lifted it up. So going 70 mph, aerodynamics of thrust, force and lift caused the spoiler to lift up more and i guess it just flew away.
Lucky no one was behind me and I was far to the left lane.
I still dont quite stand the fact that I drove up and down the interstate but can't find it ....
Still pissed as I spent quite some time prepping and sanding it and got it professionally painted. I even added some fiberglass to opposite ends to extend it all the way to the outer car because of the 1/4 gap. Didn't even get to enjoy it for a minute.

Sorry to hear that TSXinity. I genuinely feel bad, as I can sense how upset you are. Look on the bright side, atleast you get to get the ATLP spoiler. I had my JDM mounted with 3M tape as well and it never flew off like that, so I guess I was lucky. I might now have to consider this window weld stuff.
I asked this before in this thread and no one answered, can te window weld stuff be removed or is it a permanent attachment?

JnC, that looks like a good plan for attaching the spoiler. just use a putty knife or flat piece of wood to spread out the window weld i'd say a thin layer about as thick as the tape, and you should be fine. remember to get some 3M adhesive remover spray along with a cloth or micro fiber towel, for any clean ups.
