I have my stock exhaust with procats. Will I still get a noticable gain after adding the j-pipe with this set up?

most likely. you still gotta get an exhaust for powerful gains. if i remember correctly you didnt like excessive noise.... comptech is perfect for that!

I know, but I still like the OEM tips better. If I can't atleast get 8hp out of the j-pipe with my current setup, I'm going to skip it.

Finally some new power mod for our header-less TLs
Impressive gain. Hopefully I get similar gain on my TL-S with stock exhaust.

Man, i can't wait to some TYPE-S 6mt dyno's gain with ATLP... But yeah just question to ATLP users... Is it just me or when you open up the TL 6mt at higher rpm's it gets louder then it becomes quieter??? Its kinda weird in fact

How does this affect exhaust drone? Is it louder or more prevalent from the free-er flowing exhaust? If my stage 3 exhaust starts to drone more, which it does around 50 mph in 5th gear, then I'll have to pass on this one.
It doesn't increase noise/drone much. It just slightly alters the tone to a more exotic distinction. It's barely noticeable compared to before. One of those things that only you would notice because you drive it every day, but any other person would think your a bit weird for hearing a difference.

I have my stock exhaust with procats. Will I still get a noticable gain after adding the j-pipe with this set up?
It should. Even though the stock exhaust will bottleneck both the performance of the j-pipe and the e-shift cats, both these mods still improve the factory flow by straightening out the abrupt bends and improving flow.

i know its early.. but... production begin yet?
Almost. I should have it off the ground hopefully next week. We're trying to make sure that the ATLP Quad exhaust buyers get their exhausts before this project.

wait til you all hear my fully ATLP type s you'll need EAR plugs in this bitch! lol j/k
We just finished tuning the resonated ATLP Exhaust, and the first user forwarded me some great feedback and it seems that its a perfect part for those who have angry wifes.

"..I have driven my TL-S about 350 miles since installing the resonator pipe.
I have noticed that it has finally quieted down a bit, in town and on the
freeway..." (Sal)

if you can extend the first batch I'll bid in bro. Let me know.
We are still accepting deposits for the 1st batch. If you would like to take advantage of the introduction price, but can't make the remainder of the payment this month please include a special note in your checkout. I'll extend the remainder balance dues up to 1 month after the completion of the j-pipe (ETA: 4 weeks).

The deposit is at $50 right now, and the remainder balance is due ($399 shipped - $50) when the j-pipe is released.

Once this forum pre-buy is over, the free shipping will not be included.

thanks for the reply. i will have to pass on the exhaust cuz my fiance will have my head! LOL!

will the j-pipe make a noticeable difference to my all stock type-s (auto)? if so, what type of gains are we talking about? i am considering this as my first mod coupled by cai/rsb.

having a j-pipe and stock exhaust wouldn't be a high recommendation pro. the size in the piping will be reduced by using the stock exhaust possibly causing back pressure. If you're going to do the j-pipe i'd recommend getting an exhaust system to maximize your performance. just a recommendatino.

Doesn't the comptech exhaust use the same piping size as stock?

not sure bro. As long as its not drastic it should be fine. I was just talking to some good friends who know alot about j-pipes etc etc and they stated you want to make sure the piping isn't going to bottleneck (going from larger to much smaller piping) because you may have some issues with back pressure. just my I think this is one hell of a product though which is why I'm really wanting to get one.

Does this resonator restrict any gains from the ATLP Catback?

^^^Yes, but it's negligible. That's why people voted for the non-resonated version of the GReddy...it had a couple more hp and ft-lbs of torque.

I wonder how much it would cost me to get straight pipes welded onto my exhaust from the j-pipe down to the mufflers. Im getting the j-pipe for sure but now am worried about the back pressure from stock exhaust??

I wouldn't go with that route. Either leave it stock, or go with a full aftermarket cat-back system. By getting straight pipes from just a muffler shop, without mandrel bend your just inducing more pipe diameter variation, which will create more flow interruptions and eventually be worse than stock.

My old bmw had a Megan cat back with dual 5'' tips. Ricey yes. Drone hell yes. I hated it which is why I want refined power now.

Also, yes my gf and I both have pretty sensitive ears.

words from a pro (aznbo187) and this is exactly what I'm getting at. You're going to create a bottleneckin in the piping causing for possible back pressure and power loss. Either go all or none.

haha finally someone replied ... Yeah mines does the same thing it sounds like a g35 very mean ofcourse then it tends to become quieter and i was wondering why is that... The same with just an AEM intake it not as loud as i thought it would be... As it has the same affect as the ATLP. I still feel the car pulling though and can't wait to get a Jpipe. I need to be on that first batch list after i pay off my ticket

Hey anzo, I have ordered the aftermarktet resonator and put a deposit on the j-pipe, and am considering the mid-muffler delete. Are you saying I shouldn't do this, unless I'm going to go all the way with the cat-back?

he was reffering to the "straight pipe" idea
the stage 1, 2 or 3 delete will have no bearing on the jpipe gains

The current price is $399 including shipping for this pre-buy. For Canada, just add $25 to the cost.
