AEM V2, bypass valve?

Hey guys, planning on getting an AEM v2 for my 07 tl-s.
I'm a little paranoid about hydro locking because of this street in my neighborhood that tends to flood (most i've seen is about half a foot)when it rains pretty hard. Does the v2 go all the way down to the front bumper like the other AEM CAIs or does it sit a higher? Also, does the anyone have theirs fitted with a bypass valve, any worries with those?

Thanks in advance.

I do not have a cold air system but from what I have seen they extend down to right behind the drivers side fog light housing. So I would say if your driving in water that comes anywhere near the bottom of your front bumper you could be getting yourself into some trouble. Best bet is to NEVER drive in any standing water. If its a few inches deep and you have to drive through it thats fine just go slow, but why in the world people drive through deep standing water is beyond me. Turn around and go another way!!

In order to suck up water you would have to submerge the filter in water, which would require you drive through 2-3 ft of water. So avoid driving through small lakes.

Also do not install the bypass valve. It interrupts the air flow and they don't even have one for that size pipe anyways.

And we have the V2 in stock if you're interested.

You can also cut the piping down to have the filter sit higher in the bumper/ fender area.
I wanted to run a larger filter on my car, and just cut the piping down to allow the filter to sit higher.

All good points. I've heard the v2 sits a little higher than the regular AEM CAI's, let's hope that's the case.

Thanks for the link xlr8, best price I've seen! Will definitely be placing an order with you guys within a few weeks.

How exactly would you do this? Do you mean cut the piping with like a dremel or something from the top of the intake?

I really want to have the intake sit higher and still haven't installed it.

I used a hacksaw to cut mine down. You take length from the lower part of the tubing where the filter connects. This brings the filter up higher in the fender.

I just installed the V2 intake on my 08 TL and it was a little more work than I thought it was going to be. The filter is a little close to the fog light bulb than I would like, but after a little tweaking everything just fit

Yup my filter is flush with the foglight area. Oh and be careful to not tighten the the screw on the side of the tube too much as I've heard stories of it breaking. And then you have a hole in your cai

Had an AEM CAI on my 4th gen Accord for the last 5 years I owned it. Zero issues in the rain. You'd have to go through some really deep water to fully submerge the filter anyway. I was seeing my old Accord around town for 7 years after I sold it so apparently the current owner isn't having any problems either.
