Has anyone done this or ever contemplated doing it?
My current setup is: RV6 V3 PCD - RV6 V3 J-PIPE - RV6 True Dual Exhaust
I know, I know it would pain me to hack up such a beautiful piece of work, but honestly its too loud and too raspy for daily driving and I have a pretty high tolerance for this stuff. Its the PCD thats the cause of the loud and rasp, but PCD is a pain to take off and the gains are too good to get rid of em. Im getting a lot of attention with this setup and not the good kind, already got a few tickets (Canadian cops are pricks). Very minimal highway drone though, which is good.
The only part that makes it tricky is due to the 2.25 inch twin-tube piping that goes all the way through, not sure what the best way to go about it is.
I was looking online on Magnaflows website and came across this, the only muffler or resonator I can potentially see working here. Im thinking of welding it in right after where the J-Pipe connects. What you guys think?
So you're gonna add rather than replace the RV6 resonator?
Yes, adding a resonator in addition to the existing RV6 one. Between the J-Pipe merge and the existing resonator seems like the best spot.

If I had HFPC I wouldnt even think about it, but Im gonna have to hack up this beaut. Will get it done properly though, TIG-welded and all.

Yeah, perhaps I should PM him to direct his attention to this thread. I see the other thread https://acurazine.com/forums/perform...g-pcds-849750/ on the performance Sub-Forum but thats more for the ATLP and XLR8 guys.
There is no room for that resonator under the car. Everything is extremely tight already. We might be able to build custom mini resonator or a helmholtz resonator. However I dont know what it will do to the sound of the system. You might loose the signature TD sound.
how are you passing inspection in Toronto with PCDs?? and FUCK the police a wise man once said lol
Emissions testing is done right through the OBDII port. RV6 was genius enough to include defoulers into their PCDs, which tricks the ECU into thinking everything is normal, hence no CEL. So long as there is no CEL, the car will pass emissions test all day. Very well though-out products by RV6

I'm in the same boat as you aszeep. 3" catback is a bit loud for me.
Whats up gnuts! You plan on coming out this summer

Thanks for chiming in Richie. I guess that puts an end to that idea. For the brief period I had just J-Pipe and True Duals, the exhaust note was pure eargasm. It was actually very quiet unless you floored it.
Damn PCDs lol, but the gains are soo goood. If you decide to customize a mini-resonator to add onto this system, please let us know! Till then I guess Ill be mindful of cops.
Hey buddy, hope so. Wife is due in July with our 3rd, so you'll probably never see me again lol. I'll make it to something I'm sure. Want to try he 1/4 mile too.
My suggestion would be to get some HFPC's and toss the deletes on the Black Market, not about to speak for Richie, but he may be able to hook you up with a deal.
^ I was thinking something similar if you wanted to hit the "reset" button. Rather than invest in hfpcs, you could put your regular cats back on (if you have them). It would give you a reference of how to tame the sound without cutting up the exhaust. Obviously you would take a performance hit, but you could then decide if the exhaust level is more to your liking. Make the investment in hfpcs if you decide you'd like some additional performance and exhaust volume back to your setup.
