I hope you don't have to get to a last resort, but if so you can probly pick up one of those cheap and have it modded to fit the TL. I think I'm so stuck on the H design cause a had lots O Stangs with Hpipe and Flows or Dynomax and they always sounded so good. Also it just seems like the X pipe will limit flow because of the merge or cross point.
Either way, can't wait to hear the new vids. They will be my veiwing entertainment for when we hve no power from this rotten hurricane

the X will always flow better than an H....the new muffler has a 3" internal pipe and hence even better flow....The H will sound better/exotic as the pressure is equalized....

ahhaa....tomorrow I will upload 6-8 videos....

dude, it looks good, cant wait to see the pictures after you move the xmuffler back.. hopefully it will help.. everything I have googled said it would.. but that is google and not realy life... need to save up some money to do a custom exhaust as well.. going to talk to a shop this week.. question though is how much does a true dual help over say a single 2.5 going back? I know a true dual allows more exhuast to flow but isnt their a concern that the exhuast fumes will cool down and not push out as fast?

I gotta take my car to the track....need some motivation LOL
Not to burst your bubble, but a GTI MKV/MKVI with Stage 1 is only putting down 220-230 whp at most. I took down a Stage 1 GTI 6 spd with my TL when I was bone stock - they trap under 100 mph and run like mid 14's in the 1/4.

I realize 5AT and 6MT TL's are totally different beasts, but I would've thought you'd be much faster than a Stage 1 GTI.

yup I think RV6 is a great exhaust for the $$$....and it sounds good too...

by changing the muffler the tone got a little deeper and I dont feel the exhaust is raspy at all....

Didnt move the muffler back since there is no space there this was practically the only location to fit a damn 20" muffler in there....

because the merge is so close to the engine, my low end seems to have woken up....I feel more power low and mid range....

2.25" thats why its the ideal ID for true duals....its narrow enough to give you low end and its wide enough to not hurt your high end....

I did fuck my shift from 2nd to 3rd...(yes in an Auto)....I hit the rev limiter and it took a split second to shift....if that shift would have gone fine, I would have had him comfortably....

About his car....he said he was pushing ~250 to the wheels...I dont know what other mods he had....

About my car....1st: its way heavier than his car....2nd: had a passenger....3rd: had tons of luggage in the trunk (since I was traveling to Texas)...not trying to make excuses, just stating the facts....

I did race a lightly modded 3G and took him by 3-4 car length from 50-90mph...

Recently I also ran against a mustang 305 and took him by ~4 car length from 50-100mph....

The shifts were perfect in those races and I was running a little lighter (no luggage + no passengers)

The old convertibles (1999-2002 something like that)....they have like 305hp to the crank and he was a Manual....so am guessing 260-ish to the wheels....

I definitely like this set up better...the sounds sounds much more intimidating.

PS...your girl has better video skills than mine. I was just grateful mine kept her car on the road while trying to shoot!

Speaking of Mustangs (which I was a big fan of in the 80's), I went for a ride in my buddy's 07 Roush Mustang with 460whp. I have to say it went pretty good. Anyway, I played your video on my phone the first time and just played it now on the lappy. I think your car sounds incredable. The deep tone is unique and sounds fukn mean. Post up if you do get to a Dyno(as if you wouldn't)LOL!

Your Exhaust sounds like 400+WHP LOL! But if I had to guess...270-280WHP?

have you attempted to look into the 'spiral core stuff?

this is a car that i know 100% had them
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OhNIeZ7FzwU

while this car (mine) had regular old type mufflers (2 of them, no resonator or cats, but TT)

http://www.youtube.com/user/bobthebu.../5/-VNx_O_Nqak

maybe this helps?

well the tip mufflers are discontinued i think. Fast Intentions had them and never heard anything else. although it looks like sport bikes use this style in aftermarket pipes.

summitracing has one 2.5" i/o for $54.99 by Moroso ( http://www.summitracing.com/parts/MOR-94050/ )

^^^ dude i just read up couple things about it....it sounds great but I read that the sprial doesnt flow as well....the thing is I want minimal restrictions in my exhaust....i want to flow to be nice and smooth....

am thinking about:

1> heat wrapping the exhaust....
2> venturi tube...maybe

I am looking into dynomax VT mufflers for the rear's....i think that will make it sound deeper....what do you say ?

You need to look into a set of resonators between the X-pipe and mufflers. That will clean up the sound quiet a bit. You'll loose some volume, but it will also knock out a lot of drone and rasp. Resonators won't kill power either. I promise you that.

Who did the work in Kansas City? Seems REALLY pricey.

tell me about it dude....i went to MC Racing....they really know what they are doing but are shit expensive....the only problem is that they dont work on imports at all....only american muscle....i wish i would have gone to an import shop but not many in KC....

with the design, I wanted to keep it very simple with a X pipe in a muffler and mufflers back there...

I still need to try something and this shop is getting very expensive....you got any shops you recommend ?
