2007 Type S Dyno
Hi guys,
I wanted to get a base line dyno because, I am trying to custom fabricate the following part:
-Cold Air Intake
-Test Pipe
-Cat-back exhaust
Here are my Numbers with Graph:
2007 TL Type-S
11,430 miles
Max HP. 268.3
Max Torq. 192.7
Car was done on a SuperFlow WinDyn in Fulton,NY.
I will try to get my parts made asap and show some numbers after they are done.
Thanks
Nick Cardillo

it's me, Alan Rickman.
Does it have anything to do with the fact that the dyno says "SAE Corrected Wheel Power vs Speed" ?
I thought most dynos did a hp vs rpm graph; not hp vs vehicle speed.. ?

Nick, not sure what you can and can't do from a practical standpoint, but ideally this would be nice:
- Get your parts fabbed and ready to install;
- Take the car back to the dyno and run it stock (maybe avg of 3 runs);
- Install the CAI and run the dyno again (same dyno setup);
- Install the Catbacks and run it again (same setup);
- Install the "test pipe" and do a final dyno.
This way you get the same dyno on the same day (minimize machine variance and weather/climate variables) AND you can see exactly how much each mod adds to WHP.
As I said, that may not be totally practical for your situation, but something like that would be great info for users here.

This is a week old but I am taking a look at it, I also am from NYC... I am really good at math, but it doesn't take someone good at math to see via that chart that the car doesn't have 268whp... that appears to be 255-256whp

I need to search the graphs on my disc the guy gave me. It hit 268.3 at the wheels. I am trying to have some custom parts made for my tl at the moment. I will let everyone know when they are done.
Thanks

I think the chart "says" 268-ish.
The values are spaced in 50 HP increments.
The peak is ~ half-way between 250HP and the top (i.e 300 HP). In the general neighborhood of 268 I'd say.
OTOH - how accurate is that Dyno? TLFourplay had some mods and, IIRC, got a tad over 260 on a DynoJet.
- Our $0.02 together makes 4 cents. Is that enough to fund a dyno run?

jpryor27, the parts are still in the works. If you would like to get together sometime we can meet up. I know 07nighthawk6sp because I sold him a Progress rear swaybar. In case you didn't know I have my own auto part business license. If you are interested in a swaybar PM ME or call me @315-542-6001. I have them in stock ready to go.

I ran my TL-S dyno with a CAI, underdrive pulley, and outlaw engineering thermoblock spacers and got 261hp and 241tq. Did like 6 or so pulls. Your torque numbers are off man, that is weird.

Still here153: The sway bar is $125 shipped. It's the progress 24mm rear. I have 4 left. I can get more if needed.
TLFOURPLAY: Not to sure on why the torque number are low. I just needed a base line dyno so, when my parts are done I can see how much horsepower they made. Going back to the same dyno when I get it all done.

Guys,
I know this thread has not had a post in over a month but, the exhaust and test pipe should hopefuly be done today. I dropped my car off to the place that is fabricating the parts for me yesterday. Here is what I am using:
Exhaust:
(2)Megan Racing N1 Style Mufflers 2.5" inlet, 4"tip, removable scilencer included
2.5" mandrel bent , 304 Stainless Steel tubing
-After Exhaust is done I want to high polish all the stainless
Test Pipe:
2.5" 304 stainless steel tubing
-welded o2 sensor bung w/ 2 spark plug foulers-Praying for no check engine light. I have this setup in my S2000. Lets hope it works.
-After pipe is made I will high polish this as well
When I get the car back I will try and do some pics and sound clips w/ and w/o the scilencers. Also, I am going to try and take my car back to the same dyno asap.
Thanks
Nick

Hey guys,
I just got my car back from getting the custom exhaust done. I am putting up all the pics I took. I should have a video by the end of the day. I am going to try and get back to the dyno this week. Exhaust sound great in my opinion. Everyone elses opinions are different. I feel a slight increase in power. Only numbers will tell. Hope you enjoy.
