2007 TL Type S Headers
2007 TL Type S Headers
I tried searching for this but all the threads lead me to headers for a 2nd generation TL. So other than the "custom header" I found on one of the members, where can I get some for the 3rd generation type s? If you can, please post some links. Thanks.
The TL-S, or the 3rd Gen TL, don't physically have traditional headers, so you won't find what your looking for.
The only thing you can replace is the cats and the j-pipe, which essentially make up for the part of your "headers" that you can replace. They both been proven to provide pretty solid gains. There will be an ATLP in production shortly as well!

Still, I couldn't believe my eyes when I popped the hood for the first time and saw the exhaust came out of the head and immediately made a sharp 90 into the convertor. Eliminating the elbows and convertors should give some decent gains and mpg too.

ill never forget when some kid @ 7-11 told me his TL had headers and a turbo... i laughed....
no, no headers. they are actually, according to honda, "cast" directly into the engine block. eshift cats are nice.. pricey.... maybe Mike (aznbo187) will have a similar and more affordable solution to this... J-pipe, no good.. you will probably lose power unless you are F/I

The 3G TL has no headers and no exhaust manifolds as it's shipped from the factory, and cannot accept after market header or manifold type exhaust components.
I suspect Acura designers did this for two reasons. To improve emissions reduction and to increase torque in the "usable" RPM ranges.

As everyone said, the TL has the exhaust manifolds built into the head. The only option thus far is the E-Shift Pro Cats which replace the 2 cats off the manifold and the the third downstream cat. On the base TL they showed gains of about 20 whp and 15 ft lbs of tq. On the TL-S there have been no dynos yet but I did sell 2 sets to TL-S guys and both said they felt a substantial difference but there is no actual #'s to prove what it gained.
