'08 TLS and PCD

I'm planning on getting the pcd for my car, question is will I be getting a lovely check engine light because of it. Or does the spacer for cats delete the problem ??

the 02 sensor plugs into a "defouler"
if you aim the defouler correctly and being careful not to damage the 02 sensor, you will not get a CEL.

I have PCD's on a 6MT '06 TL.
No check engine light.

Yeah I have seen your post the other day, I would like to see my numbers as well of I get the pcd and installed before this Saturday afternoon. 3 dyno pulls for 50$ isn't a bad deal.

^i'm jealous of you. you're more powerful than I am.

with pcd's and jpipe, dont be surprised if you're in the 260-270 zone.

have you thought about any other cons by going with the PCD. Like the really annoying smell that gets even into your socks, now imagine clothes then if you dont have an aftermartket exhaust, it will sound like shit and then on top of that your exhaust tip will turn dirty bronze in no time and thats burned in, very hard to clean. Just wondering if you considerd that. If anything i would go with High Flow cats or dont do it at all.

the tips can be cleaned. all cars exhaust tips get dirty from soot. it takes less than 5 mins to clean them, even with the PCD residue.

the smell.
its like a motor bike smell. I personally like the smell. It reminds me of the power I gained.
Only when stopped at a stop light, with the windows down and no breeze can I smell it from inside the car.
windows up, A/C on, I cant smell it.

there is rasp. but you can easily fix this by welding in a resonator.

to each their own, the power is definitely there but i just couldnt stand the smell and how everything seemed dirty. It made my car like a riced out civic. It just didnt flow with the TL in my oppinion. But lots of guys have it and lots of them like it and some dont. Just wanted to point it out there. As i didnt know what to really expect when i did buy my PCD and then three weeks later installed HFC.

^thanks for pointing out the side effects.

butt, when purchasing something, you should really research what you're getting into.
there was/are countless reviews saying that PCD's came with rasp.
Hell, I knew what I was getting into.

I have no regrets. the smell isnt that bad, and only when I'm in vtec is when the rasp kicks in.
but plan to fix that with a cat back, anyway.

Sounds to me, like you werent prepared and just picked up the PCD's on an impulse.
impulses are bad, mmmkay.

To be honest i was eager to have them installed as i had the perfect time and place to do so, but Richie didnt have the HFC in stock at that time so i went along with the PCD. First they were much cheaper and then you have people mostly saying that the rasp is not so bad and the smell is there but you cant almost not smell it and it doesnt bother them and so on and on. I expected some of it but not that much, at least to me it was way more then i wanted. Rasp here and there but rasp in addition with the smell threw me off big time.

I just wanted to say that at least to me the smell is very pronounced and the rasp as well. With the HFC there is no smell at all but there is rasp but not as much as with PCD. The comptech exhaust fixed that but i still think the exhaust would sound a little deeper if it wasnt for the HFC. Then again im not sure about that as i have no proof of it....
