'08 MT Type S PnP Manifold
'08 MT Type S PnP Manifold
I have been doing some research regarding PnP the intake manifold. I can get with my friend a very good price. As a matter of fact he PnP'ed my intake runners with a 4whp/6lbs-tq improvement on a dynojet.
The car is currently at 296whp/262tq and I am very close from hitting the 300hp mark without tuning, grinded cams etc. Fully stock internals with bolt-ons. On my research I have seen some gains from doing this to the intake manifold including matching of the TB...
I have seen anywhere from 2mm up to 4mm porting all producing positive results. What about the TB? Should I bore it? (maxbore.com)...I have also heard that the 09 TL tb fits the manifold was ported...
I need help with opinions on the use of different combinations available to have it done on the car. So far the progress is that the new 6-puck disc has arrived from my friends at clutchmasters...
Eibach prokit is being installed with stoptech slotted/drilled discs with pads.

I would definitely send the TB to Maxbore instead of going with the 4G one. At almost $700, it's totally not worth it. MB charges what, like 195 to bore yours and upgrade the butterfly?
Not sure on the specs for the IM porting but if you find a place that can put it on a flow bench, you'll be golden. I'd just make sure they don't go overboard polishing it. And you should get decent gains from the TB, IM and runners together.

Yeah I was inclining to do that...Im gonna have to contact maxbore...I hope they can upgrade the butterfly as well and dont have to run with problems with sensors etc later on.
Regarding the port and polish i have to review the specs on my intake runners to make sure everything matches, once my friend Jorge tells me what he wants ill give the specs to maxbore to match the TB...

I'll PM him...Not long ago i was reading a thread somewhere in here saying that they did the swap to a 3.7L TB with additional bore..If im not mistaking it was a 76mm TB...and that the car was having lots of problems...Supposedly too much air...loosing a lot of low end...
Well project is on the way...We have contacted Maxbore.com...Since my intake runners were all ready ported and polished...Now they will port the manifold to match the runners...They will also match my gaskets both IM and throttle body, including the p2r spacer match to the new bore setup of the TB with the intake manifold as well...This will set up the car for a perfect flow...Not too big...not too small...taking into account is a stock ECU..that can compensate so much...Im expecting to hit 300whp...Stock internals and no spray...The job will take about 8 working days...WIN!!!
